The motor we ended up using instead of the original 396. A buddy of ours had a 67 Camaro with blown 454 when an oil leak cause a fire in the car. We bought the motor from him and rebuilt it from the ground up. Changed teh 6-71 Blower pictured here to a B&M 10-71 blower. Block is a '70 something 454.
