Well this is my new project this one is doing to be a driveable hauler. When im finished with this truck i want to be able to lay it down low and haul my 86 short box to the races and car shows.

This truck looks exactly how i baught it, it is an 81 one tone it was a single wheel truck which the guy before me converted to a dually and fliped the rear axle. it has a 79  front clip new fenders, the cab is very straight no holes in the cab corners or rockers it has one dent just over the windshield and beside the rear window . doors have no rust inside or out. cab floor has a couple of pin holes in it and the box floor has a couple rust holes in it. one fiberglass fender is eaten away at the bottom but should be repairable.

I will post some more pictures later on this evening im going to start sanding the cab and just getting some sealer on it due to the old paint from 81 falling off ....crappy primer. This truck will take a little time due to being pretty slow at work. So check back again for some updated pictures on what im starting with

Plans:

Well for this truck im going to kee it pretty simple

Body/Exterior:

Stock look shave stake pockets ,all trim piece holes in the cab, no badges, 17" or 20" wheels.

Interior:

Clean and simple Dress it up with a little billet, factory appearance all grey and black interior, diesel gauges and a manual transmissoon conversion with big shifter, air ride switch panel, simple stereo system.

Suspension and Drive Train:

Well i want to put in all new bushings and cab mounts, tubualar drop control arms or spindles or both see how it sits in the front with air bags, and a paralelle four link in the rear also on air. Now for the most involved part of the project for me and newest experience. I plan on putting in a 12V 5.9 cummins diesel hopefully a 94-98 or if a duramax comes along for the right price with all accessories, wiring and turbo i will go with that instead, followed by a five or six speed manual tranny.

LIKE I SAY THIS WILL BE A LONG TERM PROJECT I DONT EXPECT O HAVE THIS DONE FOR ATLEAST TWO OR THREE YEARS I WANT TO BE THUROW WITH THIS TRUCK TO INSURE QUALITY WORK BUT DONT WANT TO GO OVERKILL WITH IT.

That trucks gonna be sweet when you get it all fixed up. You don't see to many of those early 80's crew cab duallies.
