    It was a terrible tragedy. Taken before his time. The 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 only traveled 28,000 miles.   The only good to come of it was he had his donor card filled out and signed. Now, The Mystery Machine is about to go under the surgeon's wrenches a third time to get his new power plant. Hopefully this one takes... What will Old Man Smithers do to it before he installs it ... is a mystery ....---------------------------------------------------------------

    Building the Mystery MachineFirst you need 2 vans. One shorty panel van a little bit rusty and a 108 window van without rust but smashed in the front end.Oh! and a saw.-----------------------------------------------------------------------These photo's were taken in the junkyard. Where the vans sat for about 20 years.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------The first step was to take the vans to my brothers house where there was room for 2 vans.  Then to prepare the vans for transport to my house where I did not have room for 2 vans.I knew I was keeping the doors from the green van so I bolted them to the red van.

    How many ponies does it have?It's a Mystery.....--------------------------------------------------------------This van is a work in progress .. I have done all the work on it myself with the exception of the paint and windshield. One of my brothers, Tony cut and installed the windshield.  Another of my brothers, Tom and I painted it in a 22 hour painting marathon.The van itself was literally 2 days away from the crusher. The junkyard was cleaning and organizing the area the van was in.  It was on the "goes in the crusher" list. If you like it. Please rate it.If you love it. Please leave a comment.     -----------------------------------------------------------------------The next step was to remove the metal from the green van that I wanted. Useing a chopsaw (kinda like a chainsaw but with a fiber disk blade instead of a chain) I cut the green van into pieces. Cutting on the side of the body seams that I didn't care about.
