scampy72's 1972 Plymouth Scamp

OK heres whats been done to the car so far....

Keep in mind that i am on a very tight budget.

1. i changed the battery and spark plugs when i first got the car to make it run.

2. Front body panels were taken off and tossed, they were un-useable

3. New grill was found, i painted it to look origional in matt black and replaced the parking light lenses

4. I reshaped the filler panel in my school shop, its as close to perfect as i can get it with out cutting it up and making new pieces. I intend to buy a new one eventually but what i have will work for now.

5.I found a new pair of fenders in CT, its amazing what you can fit into a nissan altima when you set your mind to it. I had to custom drill the mounting holes for the fender marker lights, i guess the car the fenders came off of didn't have them. They do have a bit of surface rust and one little strip of bondo but they are in good shape.

6. I found a hood upstate and had that brought down and hung it. (see pic one)

7. New wipers and headlights were put on. (pic one)

8. i made a custom mirror base, i had the base from a non-remote mirror with a remote mirror, so i drilled the base out so it would accept the wires and once i knew it fit right in the car i used filler to custom fit the two together and to shape it so it looks like it goes with the car(ill post a pic of that next week)

9. I pulled off the rocker molding but i still have to clean up the little pegs that held it on to the car.

10.I got a new used carb for the car.

The engine in the car is a 225 /6, it came from the factory with the 195 but that was replaced by the last owner. other than the battery carb and plugs i have done anything to the engine

11. i pulled the gas tank and cleaned it out. I had to put on new hanger bolts cause the old ones snapped.

12. New side marker lenses were put on in the front.\

13. I have a new bumoer for the car too but i have to wait to get the frame straightened before i can fit it on the car.
