This is a picture of my 1967 Buick Riviera. It weighs over 4600 lbs, has a 3.42:1 posi rear end, and has run a best ET of 11.98@112.22 mph. I have had this car since 1987 and I am very happy with it up to this point. It is becomming harder and harder to deal with the weight and x-frame chassis as the car gets faster, but I enjoy the challenge.
The engine is a 1976 455 Buick block with ported 1970 vintage heads. There are no power adders anywhere on this car and it has a pump-gas friendly 9.5:1 compression ratio. The tranny is a full manual valve body TH-400 but there is no trans-brake. The driveshaft is a custom chromemoly duplicate of the stock 2-piece unit. The rear-end is a stock 1969 3.42:1 posi. I race it on 26 x 10.5 MT slicks and it has run a best 60ft time of 1.619 seconds.
