Hi,this is my dad's truck,I can promise you that it is one of the best 68 Chevy's on here.My dad did this truck 13 years ago.We just rebuilt the motor because we had two valves going bad.I hope you enjoy this truck as much as I do.
The engine is a 396 Chevy big block bored .030 oversize. The engine is set
back 3 inches and the firewall was recessed to improve the handling. The pistons are 11.5:1 Speed Pro pistons and the bottom end has been balanced. The valvetrain is all Comp Cams, from the roller rockers to the Magnum cam,
.550 lift and 310 duration.Manley stainless steel valves fill the heads,
that are ported. The intake is an Eldebrock Victor that is port matched to the heads. The carb is a Holley 750 double pumper. The ignition has been upgraded to an HEI Accell distributor,
with Taylor Pro wires.Exhaust is routed through a set of large tube Hooker Headers that dump into 3 inch exhaust pipes,to dynomax mufflers and end with 4 inch stainless tips. The truck is upgraded with power steering
and disc brakes. The front suspension from a 78 chevy truck was installed to improve the drivability. It is lowered 5 inches at the front and 6 inches at the rear.We have a 4 speed tranny with 4:11 gears. It rides on 15 by 8 inch American Racing wheels on all 4 corners.Needless to say, traction is a
little bit of a problem.
