Well It's about time I redid this...
SUPERCHARGED SPEC-V UPDATES PAGE 2
Older Pics of my Ride. PAGE 3.
First off I will introduce myself... I am John Smith, Owner of Revolution Autoworks. We produced the first Superchager Kit for the SE-R Spec-V and I'm the proud new owner of the first and so far the only VQ35DE Swapped sentra. See below for details and I hope you enjoy the site. I have over 100 pics to enjoy so have fun!
Yes this is the new project which is a joint production between my company "Revolution Autoworks" and "Forced Induction Racing" based out of Houma, LA owned by Travis. The SC'd Sentra is complete. I will update that over the next few days. But anyway this is a VQ35DE MOTOR SWAPPED INTO A SE-R SPEC-V. Basically you take the Maxima V6 motor (same as the 350Z and Altima 3.5) and get the maxima tranny bellhousing, change the guts of the spec trans to the maxima housing, play with the mounts and wiring and walla..
Current mod list and explanation on the motor and any mods to the car...
First off the motor itself will be described below with all the pics, but there are a few things that are not in the pics. The exhaust is the same exhaust pictured on page 3 with the visual and previous performance mods. It is the Greddy Evo II that was made for the QR25DE in the SE-R. It is pretty restrictive when it comes to exhaust flow for this big of a motor. So this may add a few horsepower but just like the short ram intake it is nothing special. The Y-pipe which is not shown was custom made for this car. A catalytic converter had to be placed in this because we used a VQ35DE stock header (which has a precat) and a VQ30DE header in the rear (no precat) to have a little more breathing room in the back when changing the oil. So to attempt to keep all 6 cylinders flowing this same, the catalytic converter from the stock Spec-V downpipe was placed to regulate exhaust flow and this car would now pass inspections even though FL has no emmission laws. The car still has the progress springs (which will be upgraded to coilovers soon) and all interior and cosmetic mods are pretty much the same but obviously everything with the motor up to the catback exhaust were modified and changed.
Here are the Pics...
This starts the transmission conversion. The first few pics are the guts being swapped from the Spec-V 6speed transmission to a Maxima 6speed Bell housing.
Once the guts are swapped and the tranny internals installed into the Maxima Housing, it is then matted to the VQ35DE motor. Essentually the reasoning behind this is to utilize the stock mounting point for the transmission making one less mount to fabricate.
Here we have a pic showing the valve train and cams. Nice clean motor.

Here is where it is fit into the engine bay for motor mount fabrication. As you see we have plenty of room to work with side to side but even with the added width, the only modification needed for fitment was 2 10inch slim fans from Autozone. As you can see the hood closes just fine.

This starts the Motor mount fabrication... Not alot of problems were encountered when making the mounts... The front mount is now a solid mount and the rear is a stock Spec-V mount with a 1/4inch cut off and the Rear ES motor mount polyurethane insert making wheel hop impossible. The side mount was an Altima side mount. Also in this process the axles were installed. Since the mounting points on the passenger side axle were different a maxima/spec-v hybrid axle was made by "Raxles". This axle was off and completely unuseable so it was back to square one. The stock spec-v axle was fine other than the mounting point so a bracket was fabricated and welded. Had this route been taken first it would have saved us both money.

These are post motor mount fabrication... At this point the wiring was started. These pics won't be released due to this being a joint effort with Forced Induction Racing in an effort to produce and sell a kit for VQ35DE swaps to all B15 owners. The other fitment issue that was noticed was the strut tower bar. It was barely touching the intake manifold. Due to the massive amounts of torque this motor makes, we cannot risk busting the manifold or strut bar even with the solid front mount and polyurethane rear mount. At this point the strut bar had to be raised 1/2 an inch.

Here is the final installed pics of the motor. The strut bar in these pics were having the plates made to raise it the 1/2inch. So this is pretty much the final pics. The intake is currently a short ram intake that although won't add much power, it deffinately make that VQ rumble. I love the engine cover... So stock looking! LOL!!!
And here is what everyone wants to see... The times... Well here are the Slips.

And as if that wasn't enough... Here is a video from midnight madness. It was warmer with a little more humidity but you get the idea... High 12's low 13's depending on track conditions.
