NEWS: Toyota is going to release a new model Camry in 2006. And there will be a Sportivo version as well. The Sportivo is going to be designed by Australian engineers. Toyota is considering releasing in the US as well! Wait till 2006 and get yourself a new Sportivo!!!

NEWS: This is the new updated 2004 Camry Sportivo. It was released in September in Australia. It is again designed by Aussie engineers, with a new meaner aero body kit, all black interiors... yes, i think it is really good....!

Above: This is the standard CAMRY SPORTIVO driven by Murray Walker and Bond Colin in May 2003 Targa Tasmania 5-days rally race. They came 2nd only behind a WRX!!The CAMRY SPORTIVO handles better than a Celia, especially in corners!!! It is in fact can be a potenial sports car.
My CAMRY SPORTIVO:
- Silver color Camry SPORTIVO
- Auto 2.4L VVT-i
- Including a moonroof and 4 airbags.
Installed with "Type R" metal pedals.
- "Type S" Thermometer
- Custom made "Sportivo" floor mat

If I am correct, Camry SPORTIVO's body kit is designed in Australia, and oversea customers from different countries have already shown sign of interest at the SPORTIVO, including Japan. The SPORTIVO in Australia comes with standard full body kits, alloy wheels, a front strut brace across the strut towers & sports interior. It is about AUD$4000 more expensive than the base model.

Apparently, there is another Toyota factory made Sportivo body kit for the Camry in Australia. It is designed for non-sportivo version but it costs extra AUD$2000. This body kit is much more aggressive, including a Sports grille and a very attractive "high-race" style wing... similar to the Supra!!! As you can see in the following images:

These are the detail shots of my SPORTIVO's body kit:

I am thinking of modifying the SPORTIVO, but not too much. I am very satisified with the original factory sound system in the Camry, so I decided to leave it alone. I did some minor yet not too aggressive interior decorations - I have inserted "Type R" metal pedals and a Type S thermometer into the interior. I have also custom made a "Sportivo floor mat" for the transmission shaft by spray-painted the word 'Sportivo' onto a normal plastic floor mat, so that the interior will look much more sporty.
