Hello,
welcome to my page
This is dedicated to my 1995 Mustang, LX

I bought this mustang back in 2000 when I was a freshmen in highschool. It's a 95 with the basic options, when I bought it, it had the 3.8 v6 with the common head gasket failure, the engine was fried due to the overheating that resulted. The car was close to going to the scraper. The front bumper was gone, the rear bumper was destroyed. The driver side had hit something hard right arround the rear door and the dents and scrapes from that accident covered the driver side. It wasn't pretty, it looked as if the car had been used in a demolition derby. Besides the drivers side, the rest of the car also had suffered from one too many parking lot dents, dings, scuffs, and scrapes. The interior was mostly complete with airbags still intact. Overall the car was in bad shape, the motor was blown, paint poor, and the roof and rear deck were about the only good panels on the car. The good news was I got the car for almost nothing!
Heres a Pic of the good side:
This is the only pic I could find of before I fixed it, it was before I had a digital camera.

Thinking back, Im surprised my parents even let me buy the car, I wasnt even 15. They also let me bring it home and use the garage for a couple months to complete the project.

When I got the stang, it had 78000 miles and was 5 yrs old. The place I bought it from thought there was no hope for the engine. I had planned to drop in a V8, but was worried about the price. Thats when I learned about the Ford Recal. I just barely met the time/mileage requirements, but I ended up after much struggling getting my local Ford dealership to do and cover the cost of job. After some opposition and some hesitation they ended up replacing the entire engine at 78,000m and covering the $3500 tab. That was good news too me cause I dont have much cash.

Now that my stang was running, I started working on the exterior. Luckily the frame was fine. I found most the parts on ebay or in junk yards for extremely low prices. I replaced all panels on the right side, got a new front and rear bumper, fixed the hood and rocker panels with fiberglass, I fixed all the dents, dings, and scrapes on the rest with bondo/hammer/dent puller, and then sanded it all down and primed it. I then had a local friend with a body shop paint the entire car. I went a similar tri-coat red so I wouldnt have to paint the door jams or the engine compartment.

These are after restoring to stock:

I waited a while to start customizing because I was already at my budget point.
With my new job jr. Year I started making modifications:

Hey, thanks for looking at my car. I kinda forgot about this site. My love for mustangs has grown strong since my first one which this site is dedicated to. Anyway, I've since moved on from the v6 to a 94 ES Red Supercharged 5.0 5spd which can be seen at the id firstonraceday5, and my other project, a 94 v6 that I have swaped to a 5.0 5spd and done a lot to, which is the id I am using to post with. Thanks for your post and please check both my new ones out.

Ps. In resposne to the painting, The horse did catch a lot of attention at shows and anytime the hood was up, I actually did that with just a thing of silver and red nail brush style touch up paint from autozone. As for painting the 5.0 intake plate, I've also done that in the past and can be seen at firstonraceday5, thats a little harder, you have to use high heat engine enamel and a lot of masking tape, and a little break parts cleaner to fix up some smudegs afterward, but definetly looks great when your done and well worth it. You'll notice on that cars hood linear, I didn't paint the hood but instead cut out 5.0 so it would clear the supercharger.
Good luck, Hope to hear back from yah....

Did you paint the horse on the underside of the hood yourself? I was trying to think of a way to make that stand out more for more of a punch at car shows. I was going to paint the plate on the intake too, blue in the ford oval and laser red in the 5.0 part. Nice work with the Mustang though, looks like a lot of work! Check out my 95 GT and let me know how you did the hood! Thanks
