Future modifications will include, but are not limited to...

1.Skid Row XJ Gas Tank Skid Plate. THIS IS ON THE WAY... I ordered it from directly from Skid Row. Should be on just in time for the Maine trip, just hope i don't need it.
I found that with the longer wheel base of the XJ, any Wrangler, CJ, TJ, etc. I've tried to follow has led me into narrow ditches. The gas tank was in constant contact with the slopes of the ditches. I've still got red clay in my tow receiver electronics. Oops.

Well the Skid Plate went on after some airgun assistance from PepBoys. I had to fully remove the tow receiver, so that meant I was illegal for the Jamboree. But a quick delivery from Mopar of one rear tow receiver and I was good to go. And it turned out I needed BOTH. I got hung up really bad between the axel and oil pan. First stuck was a good one.

2. Rock Rails. No trail more dificult than a 5 (maybe an easy 6) should be done without them. I was surprised that I have cleared most obstacles so far. But my luck will not and cannot last.
Check out these XJ Armor Rails
3. Full Rubicon Rear Leaf kit. As you can tell by the pics on page 2, this is a necessity. It may even make modification No.1 irrelevant.

4. Quick Disconnect Sway Bar . Just looking for that extra sway on the trail. Company info to follow.

5. Vanity Plate... still thinking of a good one.

any suggestions for all of these mods, let me know.

it starting to look great, that sucks about the AAL in the rear. I just got AAL as well and i'm starting to regret it as well. You should take a look at Rocky-Road.com for disconnects, they are a good company and alot cheaper! Check out my xj when you get a chance, let me know what happens with the AAL.

hey thanks, yeah that is a river bed, your jeep is looking good, about the rear lift problem, if your add-a-leafs are good then it is probably that your springs are worn out in the back so the cheaper option is to try to find some lightly used stock leafs and install the add-a-leaf in those or you can just buy 3" lift leaf springs they will be more heavy duty and end up lasting longer. If i was you i would do the second thing but i think either would work.

yeah blackxj and bignsty are right. if you look at the trim line that runs the length of your xj, you'll see the front fender goes higher up the body than the rear one does. so basically you dont sag. BUT you do have less clearance in the back. check out my flex pics to see that. i have much better flex in the front. i just bought some 1.5in lift shackles for the back. maybe you can do that. they're less than a hundred bucks. anyway, nice xj. keep jeepin and check mine out.
