Heres my 1988 Trans Am GTA.

My dad and I bought it in November of 2002 as a father/son project, after selling my 86 TA. While it did only cost $1200 the engine knocked, the original paint and the quicky maico paint was peeling, making it one ugly 'bird. After quite a bit of body work and a lot of grinding we got the car painted.

As we started the body work the engine was reringed and the crank and rods turned. The stock pistons and bores were in suprisingly good shape for a car with 120,000 miles. While we were in there we installed a comp cams xtreme energy 270HR cam and port and polish the heads. After a bit of coaxing we got the engine running... It ran pretty badly at first without the MAF plugged in, also there was idling problem that came and went that turned out to be a bad egr valve and sensor. The cat back on the car was a 2 1/2" ravin system that was smaller than a stock 3" cat back. That was replaced with hooker 3" catback. I bought the $200 catback and cut and welded the flange to the cat to save $50+. Since then I've added a K&N air filter and did some WOT tuning with a voltmeter and Adjustable fuel pressure regulater.

LT1 intake going on this weekend:
