NEW PICS FROM MAY 2003 ON PAGE 3.....My "DIM"(DID IT MYSELF) System Includes:Kenwood KDC-922 MASK Head UnitKenwood KDC-C-711 10 Disk ChangerKenwood 6042 EQKicker X3I X-Over2-Kenwood KAC-428S Amps (mids/highs)-Accented With Purple Highlights1-Kenwood KAC-728S Amp (sub)-Accent With Purple Highlights4-Kenwood KFC-1676 6.5"(Grill color changed to grey and purple)2-Kenwood KFC-XT13 Tweetes (re-colored purple)1-JL 15W6 Sub ("JL" symbol changed to purple and Kicker grill added)All wiring and signal cables are stinger (covered with purple wireloom)Die Hard Gold Battery for long, long "Key Off Concert Time"!!As you can tell I'm METICULOUS about everything matching!!My ride is fully covered by an Excalibur II alarm. Here is the new look for my trunk. I got bored and decided to add purple accents instead of the same ol' green ones. This is a new shot of my cockpit. Like before, purple accents were a must. Once I started changing to the purple accents, it got contagious. This is also a better shot of my 6.5" speaker in the door panel that I re-built........and finally, here is the center dash piece with the new "purple look". I also added a purple Matrix shift Knob and E-brake handle (along with the Hawaiian print material). It's definately an eye catcher.Yep....here it is. The custom console from the junkyard RX-7, that just so happened to be a good home for my EQ. It is also evident in this pic as well as the rest how meticulous I am about everything matching.(THE SURROUND RING WAS CHANGED TO PURPLE) Who said it's impossible to make a "MASK" deck look stealth in a Hyundai dash. Bondo, fiberglass and cursing paid off........with marbelized accents to finish it offHere's the old 8009 deck closed and open. Yes it says "Sound Domain"!! Is this my attempt to be in the "install of the week" catagory?....Maybe!!.......and the "expert" said, "There is no way 6-1/2" speakers can fit where 4" factory speakers are supposed to!!.........He was right.........6-1/2" speakers AND 1" tweets fit where a 4" factory speaker is supposed to.....Here's the trunk covered and ready for use. I also made a cover for the sub just in case......I made the box myself out of 3/4" and 1" MDF and stuffed it full of Fiber Fill. The box is only 8" deep so it doesn't take up too much trunk space!!Here's the "uncovered" version. Here is where it is really obviuos that I like everything to match. The "Kenwood" symbol on the amps is supposed to be red. The "JL" symbol we all know is white....... and how many rca plugs do you see that come in green and silver? The removable amp cover is also visible sitting on the rear deck. The amp rack is on hinges to allow easy access to the wiring and more importantly the spare tire!!......I had to do something with the "dead space" between the back seat and the sub box (the box is only 8" deep)....so why not a readily available tool kit?
