First things first, I had to get rid of that factory stereo system. NEED MORE POWER!! I replaced the head unit with a SONY Xplod CD player with detachable/flip-down face and a remote control. Check out the custom interior panels, courtesy of Krylon Fusion paint!

Next I replaced the door speakers with Infinity Reference Series speakers. These deliver clear powerful sound and provided a great fit. The adapters that you see behind the speaker are a factory adapter made of high strength ABS plastic. The key to getting quality sound from the doors is the Dynamat Extreme that you see. It is worth the money and time to install some Dynamat, especially for door speakers. The difference is extremely noticeable.

After that was taken care of I had to figure out the low end of the system. I built 4 different enclosures to get the fit just right! I wanted to leave the truck as stock looking as possible. I needed to still be able to use the rear seats, so removing them was not an option. First I started with an enclosure behind the rear seats. It fit good, but the problem was that the subwoofer hit so hard that it rattled the inner bracing of the seat back! No Kidding! Even with the Dynamat Extreme installed!

I have a new design for the sub enclosure. I built a custom center console that houses the subwoofer. I was able to increase the air-space for the sub to .50 cubic ft. and I was able to regain the rear wall of my truck back. The new enclosure hits lower and harder. And, the rear seat back doesn't rattle anymore. I think I'll use the recovered space for more amplifiers! WhooHoo!! This mod is very new. I finally covered the box with carpet. I'll get some pics in here soon.

Here is a shot of the amp rack. It is also being redone due to the sub enclosure relocation. I have a electornic crossover and 3 amps that will eventually be installed.
