Well, to start out with, I am Sam. I have devoted about one month of the past summer to take this old farm truck, and turn it into a hot rod pickup, so I would be a cool 16 year old with a yellow truck!

After I had invested about 1,000 $ on a paint job, and about 1,000$ on rims and tires the engine then became a lemon. The fuel line had imploded (it was brass, and replaced with rubber), The radiator broke down, so it was replaced, and the carburetor was rebuilt. With all of the engine work done, it came out to another 1,000$.

The engine is a 235 L6. 3.9 Liter Carbureted. Note: the tiny little air filter replaced the original oil bath air filter, and was only installed for the paint job. It now has a new much larger filter that I may take pictures of some day.

FYI: Most of the second series Step Side pick-up trucks from 1955 that are still around were park service vehicles. That would account for the forest green paint job. After I had done the majority of the bodywork, the car was then painted Corvette yellow. This car attracts two things: Females and Police! I have installed a Cherry Bomb muffler, and it sounds like most V8s do. I have also increased the idle speed, so it runs much more smooth from stops and such. Other than that it is pretty much stock. The project for this summer is to remove my plywood bed, and replace it with hardwood and slating.

I don't mean to offend... But, unless I've been lied to for a really long time by everyone, that isn't a Bel-Air. It's a 1955 Chevrolet Stepside Pickup. It might not be the 3100, but, the body is the exact same thing that my grandfather has. I just thought I'd put that out there for you.
