Camarochick22's 1991 Chevrolet Camaro

Camarochick22's 1991 Chevrolet Camaro

I've have gotten quite a few people asking about my swap. I'll try to list as much stuff as i can as far as what needed to be replaced, what problems i'm running into and what parts i had to buy. Hope this helps.

i went from a 3.1L V6 with Speed Density to a TPI 5.7L V8 with MAF. The 1st thing i had to look for was a good donor. I got lucky and was able to get the whole engine with ECM, wiring harness, all accessories and transmission for a fair price.

What was done to the engine:
-regasketed everything except the heads. They should no visible sign of leaking. I was told not to touch them because if they warped for any reason i might not get a tight fit again. I don't know how true that is but i let it be.
-Since everything was filthy and didn't look healthy, i replaced the water pump, power steering pump and Alternator. The V6 accessories were not compatible.
-Cleaned the carb build up off of EVERYTHING.
-Put Proform valve covers on.
-Rebuilt Distributor
-Switched out my v6 motor mounts to V8 ones.
-had to switch my V6 fuel pump to one that will compensate 40psi.
-New radiator to compensate for my AC delete.
-my ac line was broke and condensor was shot so i ripped all the AC stuff out and bought a 1LE delte pulley and Non AC heater box.
-Needed a new torque arm bushing.
- i decided to keep the stock v6 torque arm and driveshaft until i can afford new ones. They will work with the V8.
-new plugs and wires
-All new hoses
-New Miloden oil pan, the one on the V8 was dented in and leaking.
-Edelbrock TES 1 5/8 headers
-Random Technology Cat-back system
-Catco catylitic converter

What problems i'm running into:
-my gauge cluster will work but the speed and RPMs will not be accurate so I have to find a 91-92 z28 145mph cluster.
-Had questions about the harness. My 91 came with a seperate harness for the lights and wipers. The new v8 harness had connections for those accessories. When the igition was turned on, the computer recognized that mini harness so i can cut off the unused connectors.
-Still having problems with fuses blowing everytime i turn the ignition on. Everything is grounded correctly.
-Fans will not kick on when jumped from the ECM.
**UPDATE**
-Found out why I was blowing the ACC fuse that controls the interior lights. I had a ground wire from the MAF harness matched up with the wire for the light under the hood.(89 MAF formulas have no light under the hood...duh)
-Fans werent working because there is no wire coming from the fans from the MAF bulkhead connector. So i have to pin in a Fan wire.
-Fuel injectors are not pulsing. I Have 12v going to the injectors but they are not pulsing. I'm still looking through diagrams and trying to solve that problem.**Update--Had to add a couple grounds to the injectors and vrrroooom! my baby started up!

That's all i can think of for now. i'll post more when stuff when i can remember lol.
