This page is solely for my pride and joy, StigmaWagon: a 1979 Chrysler (Mitsubishi) Sigma GL Station Wagon.
I bought this car after I decided to trade in my old Datsun 280c (due to mechanical troubles). At the time, it was a one elderly owner, all-original car with only 78150km (48560 miles)on the clock... So I decided to snap it up for $500 cash and my Datsun ($400).. and I havent looked back since then...

It runs a treat, even if it is a little slow in acceleration (but hey, it wasnt designed to win a drag race, right?)
The Astron 2-Litre engine and 3-speed Borg Warner 'box does the job nicely. Another plus is the lack of rust..If you have owned a sigma before, you would know more than well that these beasts are quite prone to cancer during the later stages of its life, this one has only a couple of small surface spots.. quite luckily.

No major mods have been undertaken, due to financial constraints, apart from a 2.25 inch sports exhaust system, which gives the Sigma that all-important rumble at idle, and the ideal sound higher in the rev range.
Some future mods may include:

*TR Magna Head/EFI Setup
*T03/04 Hybrid Turbo
*Pod filter & Cold-air induction setup
*Sports Suspension
*Factory Scorpion/Sigma GSR wheels
*the list goes on...

Things that I have done and repaired include (in order of distance travelled)

*88207 km - Purchased Tyres: Barum Brilliantis 185/75x13. (Made by same company that make Continental tyres, and the the grand sum on $69 per tyre you cant go wrong..I recommend them)

*80800 km - Service/Oil Change: Replaced old NGK plugs with Champion copper-core plugs, replaced oil with Valvoline Engine Armour and filter.

Ideally, I would like to make the Sigma into a 2-door panel wagon, but keeping it as stock looking as possible. Here is an image I created on Microsoft Image Composer

However, I would rather have the rear wildows covered (ala Holden Gemini panelvan, KE-series Toyota Corolla Panelvans and alike)it has shaved door handles, re-located fuel filler, lowered suspension, 16in. American Racer Torq-Thrust chromies.
In my opinion, its looks pretty sweet :)

Thanks for visiting, please feel free to leave your thoughts in my guestbook..and come back soon for more updates on the progress of the mighty StigmaWagon!
