In order to swap the 2.5 in place of the 1.8, you are going to require a few things.First is the motor mounts. You are going to need all 4 mounts off of an MX3 GS (V6 model.) You are also going to need the axles, crossmember, intermediate shaft and clutch assembly, you will also need the transimission. So in reality, it would help if you had an MX3 V6 parts car kicking around, because these parts are not always the easiest to come by, and the dealership will charge you an arm and a leg.Anyways, after bolting up the new crossmember, we started to lower the motor into place. It dropped in surprisingly well. The front and rear mounts took very little coaxing to line up. The driver side tranny mount took a bit of prying and coaxing before it would line up properly. The mount that gave us the most problems was the passenger side mount. It turns out that we needed to weld a metal plate onto the side of the mount in order for it to work and line up properly. It turned out that it worked out all right, and essentially, the motor was in.
