TOWING
Later it was outfitted with a gooseneck receiver in the bed & electric brakes. They made a mess of the wiring. Wire nuts on the exterior of a truck, do what... I had to go through and rewire it all correctly! Darn thing kept failing otherwise!

EXTERIOR
I made a few changes over the years. Since we were stuck with the chrome, I opted to blend it better. We got the black bump strips to match the bumpers. I installed them and cut them to fit. They had no provisions for the dual wheels, so I had to order extra and cut them to work. I then got Chrome pin stripe tape and taped it high and low to match up with the chrome on the grill.
I then got some of the Vent shade air deflectors. But the day I got the one for the hood I got nailed with a rock on the way home. If only fate could have waited one more day I would have still had a perfect windshield. I got the vents for the window...the air/rain really gushes in with the windows down w/o them. It least now I can crack them without being wind blow to death or soaked. Then I got the extended cab window covers. I had to dress this thing up a bit!

LIGHTING
I got the blackouts for the headlights and the cutout covers for the tails.
On the headlights, I liked the way the black blended with the charcoal grill. This particular grill wraps across the top, center and bottom, with chrome bands. Then around the outside of the lights, so there is no chrome band b/w the headlights and charcoal grill.

This gave it a neat black band effect. I also covered up the gold bowtie with a black bowtie I cut from vinyl. It gave it a better black chrome contrast.
Now because the black outs are so dark I got 2 sets of fog lights to compensate. It helps quite a bit and adds to that beastly look! I got the amber KITT light for the heck of it. My bird has the red one.
Then the clear lights came out...I though this was perfect...I could have the clear tails and really offset the chrome!

So I got them, the roof lights, & tailgate running lights in clear.
The clears were too much in the rear, so I opted to put the taillight covers on them. This helped a lot! Looked sweet. Now I just have to make the side ones for the dual wheels.

WHEELS
Well the stock wheels, grey with black center caps, were a mess. Well it was blah, and the gray started to rust. The black plastic caps had come off a few times. GM replaced them, but they looked like crap. I saw the new trucks had chrome ones and thought that a reversed theme would look good!.
I decided to paint the rims black and get some chrome center caps! Well for the time being I was going to have to settle for chrome in a can! It was OK for the first day or so. Then it rained and they turned grey! Oh well, still better then before!
So I was on the hunt for the chrome center caps at a good pricedealership wanted like $50.00+ per
