The Story I first spotted this car going down this remote road in Surrey BC with my dad. So after a month of deciding my dad bought it brought it home and cleaned it up (see page 2 for pics before we cleaned it). eventually we got it running no problem and drives beautifully. I got her on my name on my 17th brithday. Running a 261 "big six", 145hp and 230lbs/ft torque. It also has the not so well known "3 on the tree" manual transmission (shifter on steering column). Pretty much all stock and everything is manual...literally. What I really like is shes really rare and a Canadian Pontiac, more like a chevrolet than it's US counterpart [frame, suspension, drivetrain, the engine (except the 261, but chevy's 235 was almost the same), and about 75% of the body and metal is the same]. Only a 4 door sedan but what can I say for my first car. I will restore it but I cant decide on a style (take the poll and help me out) .I really love it and hope to cruise around soon. Recently I put a beautiful 265 V8 Power Pack from a 1955 chevy with a 4 speed Saginaw transmission with 3.08 rear gears.

Sweet car mike. We should get together for a cruz. I am in North Van and have virtually the same car. 55 canadian model. From the research I have found, my car would be considered a "Pathfinder deluxe". I also rock a 4 door, 2 tone navy and white. U may have seen it around. Drop me an email and we'll chat.

Michael, what a beauty! Such a rare Canadian classic, and so unmolested, should be stock! Once the linkage is tightened a 3 tree is great, and you still have a 6 seater car. 3 Tree was the "standard" trans up to 1970. 71 they figured it was just as well to throw in Hydramatic as standard as so few cars went out as mamual it was more effort than it was worth, like power windows today, the workings of roll-ups are heavier and more time consuming to install than the small electronics of today. Air conditioning is pretty much the same now, more do then don't, as then it's not necessary to engineer 2 quite different ventilation systems.I run a 65 Parisienne rag, white top over light blue. You may have seen her around, I live on 16th @ King George.
