924 Carrera GT replica
My new toy, the old green 924 is sold!
Originally a 1980 924 turbo for the UK market its 2L slant 4 engine develops 127kw thanks to a KKK K26 turbo (slightly smaller than a turbo from an R32 gts-t but apparently they flow the same). 0-100kph was claimed by the factory to be 6.7 seconds.
It was turned into a 924 Carrera GT replica before being imported into NZ in 1989. This conversion included: fibreglass bonnet, front & rear guards and one piece front bumper/ spoiler and fuch wheels (forged ali).
mods to come:
*top mount i/c built to a carrera gt jig and made from a series 5 RX7 i/c
*924 carrera gt bonnet scoop- for the i/c and also to complete the carrera conversion. will sit next to the NACA duct
*boost controller
*pod filter (done) and cold box
*K26/K27 hybrid
I'll be installing my old stereo system from the old 924 into this one and updating with a new alarm and security tint.
