My dad owned my Ranchero before me. My dad traded his motorcycle for the Ranchero so he would have a work truck (My dads a painted that paints houses).
My dad trided to make the Ranchero into a hot rod: He put a B&M Quick Silver shifter in 67 Firebird/Camaro console, he put a cowl hood scoop on it. It had a 351M/400 in it and it sucked up water though the exhast pipes, so my dad took the motor out of my mom's Cougar which is a 351 windsor and ported and polished the heads which are the 1969 high compresion heads. It has about 330hp. Its got a C-6 trans and a 9" rear end. It's got Gabrial HiJackers air shocks on the rear to get it on its nose. And a two barrle to four barrle adaptor so i won't be wasting gas going back and forth from school. I am going to keep the two barrle carb on it untile I geet out of high school than I will put a four barrle carb on it. Its got a Edelbrock Performer 351W intake and heddman hedders. My rims are Cragar S/S, on the front:14X7 back:14X10. The front rims are actualy Western rims and the back rims are the old style Cragars when you could get the centers gold plated from the factory. I am fixing my Ranchero up right now, bondo work, sanding, and priming. And I am working on fixing up the motor. I have cleaned and painted a few things on the engine.
Updates 3-5-05
updated 10-10-05 Old School Street Machine New ruber all around 205/75 in front and BFGoodrich Radial T/A 265/50 in rear. And in the rear I bought some cragar s/s knockoff spinner center caps and I painted the centers gold to match the rims. Look good right. In the front i painted the hubs of the rims satin black to give them a keystone look. And the engine looks nice!
------------------------------------------------ Well I had planed on getting a cheap car (A Ford of course) that I could drive wile I fixed up the Ranchero. I found a Black 1987 Thunderbird with the 5.0 engine. So the time I started this was around June or July of 2006. Now to present day I haven't much touched the Ranchero, I've mostly just getting the Tbird up to running well and just tring to make it with now job. But back to the Ranchero, The first months of 2006 I put a Edlebrock 600 carb on it. I got the driver side fender painted blue and the hood blacked out.
Hear are some pictures:
---------------------------------------- Update 7-20-07
---------------------------------------- Here is a 1971 Ranchero GT that I'm so mad at my self for not getting. But for $3500 it seemed a little pricey.

Id say it cleaned up well. Its just got a 400 with a 2 barrell on it, but intend on changing that soon.
