Eric took ownership of this beautiful classic on April 10, 1997. I met him 4 months later and I helped him locate a 502 for her. He never ended up buying the big block but almost 6 years later, we are still together. So I have very fond feelings for this ChevyEric and his Dad shortly after getting her home. Eric and his buddy, Jesse, from school, UTI. She didn't run at first becuase she had sat for so long but they got her going.Eric's first love was his '85 caravan, 2 seater with a monstrous system inside her. He is drawn to the unique type of vehicle. I don't think he ever imagined owning an 18 ft. long car. After months and months of looking we tracked down a windshield. Later we found an amazing junkyard that had all classic cars from the 40's and 50's and we found a rear window there. That was one of the most enjoyable days of my life. It was like stepping back in time. Our first house and what do we do, park our cars on the back patio. The other van was a junker we pulled the motor from. Now the BelAir is closest to the house and the GT40 is on the other side. Our neighbors love us!This is the only other '59 we have seen in the wild. Just cruising around in the snow and we spotted her so I had to take a picture. We don't see many at car shows. I really don't know why the car wasn't more popular.I know the '57 is the cat's meow but the '59 is so beautiful in it's own way! The long sleek lines, perfectly sculpted fins and the cat eye taillights. The sheer girth of the front end and it's mean stance. She's a tank!! Someday soon we hope to have the money to restore her. We thought about going completely original but we are probably gonna do a little customizing. We will definetly have a 502 for her and we already have the baby allison trans that Eric built in school.
We are also owners of a 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 ExoticDMC
