July - August 2004:
I decided to follow through on my promise of building a mesh grille:

Electric_Frost's 1998 Mercury Mystique

Front end with bumper removed, and my first template of the mesh.
I first removed the stock inset and then cut a rough pattern out of the mesh to use as a guide for the final version.

I used screws from the backside downwards and the from the topside pointing upwards. Unless someone gets down on their hands and knees they won't be able to see the screws. This ensured an evening and tight fit. Looks much better than the original in my opinion.

very nicely done. clean look. i just recently purchased a 2000 ls, i am not sure i even want to keep it. i have the same thought as you, SVT parts all the way. do you have any ideas as to where i can pick these up, other than ebay.
