What Is a Buy-In?
S-ICON has produce 3 body kits for the Saturn. Each was done by gathering a buy in. Instead of investing in the complete mold and product only to sell a handful we have decided to produce according to market interest, or in other words we use a ?buy in?. By gathering a minimum of 10 persons to prepay for a kit, we insure at least half of the initial process is paid for.

We see this as beneficial for the buyer. Why wait for a multi million dollar company to make a kit you like when you can have a choice and get it made now.

Our buy in also enables you the buyer to make payments. We start the buyin?s by taking a half down deposit. After we reach the target amount of buyers we request a final payment. This process can take up to 3 months which makes it easy to invest.

Most kits we sell for 1000.00 shipped but for buyin members exclusively we are doing 900.00 shipped. All you have to pay to us is 770.00, and you keep 130.00 to pay the shipping when the kit arrives at your door. So to get this buy in started we ask you to first send in a 370.00 deposit.

This buyin is for the 91-95SL cars and as a bonus the 91-96 SC1?s will have a kit as well. The main 10 we need is from the SL models, the SC1?s may buy in as they please.

If you have an SC1 and only want the front bumper, the total for it is only 450.00 shipped. Your down payment would only be 250.00 but the SL buyin will have to be completed first.

FAQ:
1- How long does this buy in take?
This depends. As soon, as we reach 7 buyers, we begin production of the prototype on a car. We try to have the prototype done by the time all 10 final payments are in and in some cases we have the mold already in production. When we send the mold off it takes one month to get back, then after we receive it, an average of two weeks to prep the mold and pull a sample. After that we send out one kit every other day until the backorders are all full filled. We estimate the entire process to take an average of 5 months from the start of the buyin to the shipping of the first kits. Of course all of these things change the faster we gather all 10 buyers.

2- Can I get a refund if something happens to my car during the buyin?
We will give a full refund of the deposit ONLY if production has not started yet. AFTER production starts of the prototype, your deposit becomes NON REFUNDABLE.

3- Are there any additional charges?
When paying by credit card through PAYPAL there is a 3.2% service charge on your total. In addition, shipping charges are built into the price of the kit so aside from credit payments there are no additional fees.

Lucian, the car is crunk. At first I was going to see if there is a buyin for 00-02 Saturns SLs. Then I started thinking, since I used to work for a body shop I'm going to work on a custom body kit, do you have any info for contacting S-Icon directly or should I just check their website and go through the red tape. I've got some ideas for a new body kit for 00-02 SLs. Checkout my page and share some tips for engine mods.
