FullRunSilviaKs's 1989 Nissan Silvia

Intro
So this is my 89 240sx coupe that I converted to a Silvia Ks.... I have alot of blood, sweat, tears and money in this car and I'm very proud of it. If you like it, cool.... if not, whatever....its my car, not yours

Old Mods/ History
Although my car looks fairly tastefully done and not rice right now, this was not always the case..... After I first bought it I really didnt know much about cars or performance, and as such my first rounds of mod, "performace"* or other wise were fairly pathetic.

*(use of "" means that I am using these words in a VERY broad sense)

The first thing that I did after I bought the car was invest in stereo consisting of a new deck, speakers, amp, sub, and bandpass box. After I got the "ICE" taken care of I decided that I should do some "performance mods" starting with my "intake" that consisted of a cone filter and my "exhaust", a universal muffler on the end of a 2 1/4" muffler shop cat-back.... Like I said, pathetic...

The next couple mods that I did are the only "original mods" that I still have on the car. Looking at the car I decided that it sat much too high and I wanted to get rid of that 4x4 look, so I bought some Sprint lowering springs. These lowered the car to the point that it didnt look rediculous, but it still maintained enough suspension travel to be effective (a problem with many Nissans). The only down side to this was that while installing the springs I discovered that the shocks were completely blown, so I ordered some Tokico Blue shocks.

It was around this time that I really started getting into JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) stuff and I decide that the goal for my car would be to look and perform like something out of Japan circa the early 90s, ever since then pretty much everything that I've done has been geared towards that.

Upgrades, Round 2

For a long time after the spring/shock FullRunSilviaKs's 1989 Nissan Silvia upgrade I didnt do much because I was saving up for the next major upgrade, which came in early 2002 in the form of an SR20det from a 1991 Silvia Ks straight out of Japan. Since I dont have a good garage or space to work on my car I had Auto Tech Engine and Brake in Burnaby, British Columbia do the install in car. When I had the swap done I also did all of the basic upgrades for a turbo motor, too. These include FMIC, Halman boost controller, Moto-R 3" down pipe, 80mm Kakimoto exhaust (nice deep idle) and GReddy Type S BOV. FullRunSilviaKs's 1989 Nissan Silvia In the months following the swap the only mods that I did were some small electronics like an R-spec Rev/Speed meter, GReddy turbo timer, and GReddy electronic boost gauge(replaced my original POS Autometer gauge). I also put in an OMP "Super-Rice" bucket seat because some butt-pirate in an F-150 pick-up rear-ended me, and my stock seat broke. I am currently in the process of getting a Corbeau Pro-Sport seat (very nice, carbon-fiber and kevlar bucket)

Right now I'm saving up for a Limited Slip differential, some JIC FLT-A2 coil-overs and some SSR reverse mesh rims. Sometime in the coming months I plan on doing something about my brakes too... Lots of HP + Shitty ass stock brakes= NO FUN!
