This is my 1972 Datsun 240z that was recently painted red.

This is the rear of the car, with the new gas tank and exhaust.

This motor is a 2.8L F54 block with a shaved N42 head. It has 10.5:1 compression and will have headers going to a 3" exhaust with Triple Webers on the intake.

Here is a close up of the camshaft. As you can see, the cam has been ground to the MAX. It has 304 degress of rotation and .505" valve lift. That should do it!

This is the flange from my old R180 diff. Notice that the inner diameter is 2.25".

This is the flange from my new R200 diff. Notice that the inner diameter is 2". This discrepancy creates problems...

Here is the two flanges when put up next to eachother. The bolt pattern is also different, however is more evident in the other photo.

Love your car dude! Its beautiful! I have a 72Z recently purchased with a Chevy 350 installed. I drove it home, ripped it to pieces and will go back with the 350 (fresh and reworked with the rest of the car). I have a question concerning the round Z emblem behind the rear quarter windows...how the hell do you get it off?!?!?! Anyone who knows please mail response to Cheveeman@yahoo.com (Oh, and thanks!)

Looks fabulous, must reserve my judgement on the wheels though. Will fly with the 280 motor.
