On December 21, 2003, I was in an accident returning from Christmas shopping. Essentially, I was going around a gentle curve in a road and my back end suddenly rotated on me. I careened off the road, over a drainage ditch into a front yard. There was snow everywhere so I had no control. Cranked the wheel to correct myself and to get the car back on the road. The car did turn slightly but I continued to slide sideways. I slid 30 feet and clipped a fire hydrant. After hitting the hydrant, I slid across the road coming to a rest on another front lawn between a telephone pole and a speed limit sign.
The cause of this accident was the road was covered with black ice.
Here are some pictures of the aftermath.
