Hello my name is Qijuan and this is my 1988 Nissan Maxima.

Update: I sold my baby in mid August for 1600. I was happy with it going to its new owner. I found out later that 3 weeks after giving the car to his son, he wrecked it. Its probably at a junkyard now. May it R.I.P.

Update:
When I got my top end rebuilt I had a cold start up problem it would go tpktpkt p chug chug vroom. Anyway, I had first thought it was the air regulator (that may have helped) so I got another very good connector from the junk yard and it still persisted. So I decided to examine the vaccum lines and such. Well, found some unconnected fittings to the engine and some misapplied vaccum lines on the car. After, figuring out what went where the car now starts up on a dime when cold or warmed up. So Im excited! Shes back on track 99% now. The 1% left over is from my cruise control not working after the shop fixed the car and for other thing not found yet. So if any of you have a problem with cold starts check your air regulator connector to make sure its not corroded if so replace it. And make sure all hoses are connected properly to the right place. There were some places on the intake collector and engine I didnt know had places for a hose to go(ie hard to find). So look carefully at everything. Hopefully this will help you 2nd gens who are having those cold start problems.
New update:
Remember that cruise control issue I had? Well, I found out what the problem was. These jokers that installed my new heads didnt connect the vacuum line back up to the Cruise Control actuator in the engine compartment. I found this out while at a junkyard looking for parts, I also examined connections of vacuum lines and such and found out where the line for the cruise control went. Well, it turns out the guys hid the vacuum line underneath the actuator inside the engine bay to look like it was connected up but the hose was just sitting underneath there. So, I bought a new vacuum line and hooked it up and man does it feel good to have cruise control again. Everything works!
Having hesitation Problems?
Sometimes it can be caused by a faulty pcv valve. I had some hesitation and changed out my pcv valve with one from Advanced Auto Parts store and it made a difference. For some reason the one from Autozone didnt make a difference in hesitation. But the one from Advanced decreased the hesitation I had. Check your spark plugs for correct gapping as well as the condition that they are in could be bad.
Got Condensation in your headlights or would you like to paint the inside chrome to get that good beam pattern back. You have to take the headlights out to do this.
Youll need a
-Hair dryer and to prevent condensation from coming back get some Silicon Glass sealant and seal all around the beams after your done getting the condensation out. To get the headlight to come out is a task. Youll need to first take out the side marker lights. Let them hang. Then the piece below the headlights that wraps around the front of the car above the bumper youll unscrew a screw on both sides and pull up. If that doesnt work then there is a connector on the end that youll need to pull it off of. Youll never use it again, I couldnt. There are two screws in the front that connect that piece to the grill. Take those screws out. Before you take that piece off youll need to unsnap the grill from its posts and unscrew two screws. One screw will allow you to take the piece below off. Then take the grill out. After that the clearance lights and the piece that wraps around that was removed will expose some screws and bolts. Two bolts are revealed on both sides from the clearance lights and one screw on the bottom from the piece that wraps around. There is a screw on top that is noticeable that attaches the headlights to the frame unscrew that too. The grill is removed for more clearance. Once you disconnect the headlight bulbs and city light bulbs from the headlights( I recommend doing this before you unscrew anything)you can pull the headlights out. Youll have to maneuver them alittle to come out, not hard at all. Once youve done that clean them up and get the hair dryer out and hold the hair dryer to the headlight hole and wait. Time varies with each hairdryer used. At this point if you want to paint the inside of your lights chrome Just preheat the oven to 200 degrees and let them sit in there for about 15 minutes. This may vary with each stove is different. Pry them apart with a small prying tool or screw driver and open them up. Tape and mask what is to be masked and if you want you can prime then spray or you can just spray. Use Duplicolor Chrome spray. It should have a shiny chrome looking top on it. After they dry unmask and put them back in the oven to melt the sealant and I would suggest using some black sealant to reseal completely. Youll only use the Silicon Glass sealant if you are just getting the condensation out and safe guard sealing for no more condensation. After you are done put everything back together in reverse and you are done. Pat yourself on the back:)
