UPDATED June 21, 2005
Hey everyone this is just a short update - whats included are just some new shots i took of my car, and my newest mod - my new tires. Enjoy the new pics!!!

UPDATED June 8, 2005

Well everyone its been a very productive 2 months since my last update because this update is HUGE! Every single last thing that i've been meaning to do my car and a few other things that i thought of have finally been done and now its time to show it off! The things that i've accomplished are as follows:
1. Installed my IPD Polyurethane Engine Mount
2. Bought my R front Bumper and mounted my VST splitter to it
3. Installed my 7000k HID fog lights into the new bumper
4. Bought new HID headlights - 8500K now instead of 5400K
5. Mounted the new R bumper to my car
6. Got the drivers side trim piece for the exhaust cutout painted and mounted. And finally
7. Re-Painted my tailgate to get rid of the rust and poor paint from before i bought the car

So there you go folks this is my huge new update, pictures will be hosted below in their respective catigory with the heading NEW!!! above them so you can tell whats new.

As for whats next, currently i'm in the process of getting new tires because MY PIRELLIS FELL APART ON ME!!! probably getting some BF Goodrich G-force in 225/35/19, and other then that i might start painting some interior pieces and eventually get a short shift from Eurosport. Also when i get my new tires i'm gonna be off to the track to see if my times are any better with my samco hoses. So to sum it up next is:

1. New Tires
2. Paint Interior pieces
3. Go to the track
4. Install my Samco Coolant Hoses
5. Get the short shift kit

UPDATED April 6, 2005
Just took some new pics of the car - replaced the snow pics down bleow.

As For what to expect in the near future, my plans have changed a little bit. The things on the very short list are as follows:
1. Finally Get an r-front bumper with my tax return
2. Install my HID fog lights into the new bumper
3. Mount the front splitter on the new bumper
4. Get an IPD Polyurethane engine mount because mine is kinda shredded
5. Get the Eurosport short shift kit

Now that summer is on the way too, i'm looking at installing air bag suspension up front on my car for now, cause its a pretty easy set up. Nothings gonna happen till May at the very earliest becuase i'm still in school, so just be patient and stay tuned!!

UPDATED February 10, 2005
Hey this is just a quick little update seeing how since the last one i've got a few more things done that i said i would. First things first my Carbon Fibre VST front lip spoiler finally came in and it looks just awesome!! Only problem is i'm waiting to get an R-front bumper before i put it on, hopefully that will be soon. I also got my last 2 SAMCO intercooler hoses installed at the dealer, i however dont have any pics of them. Seeing how now i've got everything i've ordered i better get on the phone and order something else!! next will probably be a short shift kit from Eurosport Tuning, and hopefully an R-front bumper! Check out pics of the splitter below, and stay tuned for updates!

UPDATED January 16, 2005
Ok well first things first HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Wow its been almost 5 months since my last update and there has been a TON of things going on with my car. Guess i'll just get right in to it. A while ago back in the summer i bought a carbon fibre spark plug cover and i forgot to mention it so thats why i'm telling you now. I FINALLY got my 3 pod a-pillar in the mail after waiting about 8 months since ordering it - got it installed and it looks great! Along with the A-pillar i put in my 7 colour ractive volt guage to keep an eye on my battery and eventually tell me some vital info for when i get my sound system. Through a volvo forum i'm a part of i got word of a GREAT deal on a HID headlight conversion which i was wanting for some time and this seemed like a golden opportunity so i went and bought a set of Low beam, Fog light AND high beam HID's and they make a HUGE difference. My yellow silicone SAMCO intercooler and coolant hoses finally came in after a long wait and i got most of them installed, 2 of the 5 hoses are a real pain and i think i'll just get the dealer to do it for me. So thats it - a-pillar, volt guage, HID's and new hoses - all the stuff i've been waiting for has finally come in and is installed and i couldnt be happier. Now that those things are over and done with i've got a whole new set of things to order and look foreward to, those things include:

-VST carbon fibre front splitter (ordered)
-V70 R front bumper
-Short Shift kit w/ new shift nob
-Installing my Fog Light HID's

Those are all the items on the short list for now, i'm sure more will come up later. Again thanks for checkin out my site and just keep waiting for the next update!!

UPDATED AUGUST 19, 2004

Well its been over 2 months since my last update and a fair number of things have happened since then.
Getting right to it, i finally got my EurosportTuning ECU straightened out and the car seems to be running a little bit faster. I went to the track last week to test it out and see what kind of gains i got and i wasent overly impressed with the results. I went from a 15.27 @ 88 to a 15.09 @ 92. It had just finished raining so the track wasent in great condition and i couldn't get traction for shit. I figure if i went on a hotter day i could break into the 14's but oh well. I got a new Custom licence plate "UBER CAR" i just love it. I got a new volt guage that i'll install when my A-piller comes in the mail probably sometime in late september, so until then it'll just sit in my room. I've also got some yellow SAMCO intercooler and coolant hoses on order, but it takes a long time for those to come so they'll probably be a christmas present. On july 30th i attended a volvo car show in Ilderton, Ontario and i won 1st place in the V/S/C/R/X catigory so hurrah for me! Other then that there really isn't anything new with the car. Things to look foreward to are
1. New a-pillar
2. Installed volt guage
3. Intercooler and coolant hoses.

Thats all for now - until next time, enjoy the car!

UPDATED June 12, 2004

Its been a little over a month since my last update so theres lots going on in this one. I got my boost guage hooked up and it works great!! I dont have my a-piller yet tho so i had to make a ghetto ass temporary holder, its not pretty but it does the trick. I got a new front chrome / Black grille that looks sick!! I got a Chrome strut bar and that stiffened up the front suspension quite a bit. And lastly i went to the track the other day to get some new times and i was very happy with the results. I went from a 16.54 completely stock, to 15.27 now. As for whats next, next week i'm getting a chip for my car, then i'll be hitting the track again to see the improvements. Other then the chip and a-piller nothing else is on the way..... Yet. Check back next week for another update.

Hey everyone welcome to my new and improved page.

This is my 1998 Volvo V70 AWD 5 speed. I've had it for a little over a year now and i've got alot of mods to it that drastically change the looks and performance. I'm always thinking of new things to do to this car, so check back often to see if theres any updates. Scroll down the page and you'll see everything ive done to this car, hope you enjoy!

Feel free to sign the guestbook, send me an e-mail and be sure to rate me good!

Interior

Heres a picture of what i see while i'm drivin down the road.
A shot of everything all lit up with the guages set to green

This is looking in from the trunk of the car

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Heres the Instruments - ive got plans this summer to upgrade to some new reverse glow ones from Euro Sport tuning.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

These are the stock automatically adjustable, heated LEATHER seats - Very comfey

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

The rear seats, not heated and cant move em', but their still comfey.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Here are the stock pedals. I just bought a metal set, their a little tough to get used to but overall i like em'

Wheels & Tires:
NEW!!!
Ok people i got some new tires for my rims. These are Bridgestone Fuzion in 225/35/19. Much better tire than my old Pirellis because these ones actually have somewhat of a sidewall thanks to the wider tire (225 now opposed to 215) Hopefully these tires hold up and dont fall apart like my Pirellis did. Heres a pic of the tread pattern and the tire on the rim. (notice the lack of curb rash, and this is their 3rd summer!!)
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

As for what happened to my old tires - my PIRELLIS simply fell apart on me. The sidewall literally collapsed on 3 of the tires, and even cracked in another. Luckally i noticed all of this while in the garage and not on the highway while flying into a guard rail. As far as i'm concerned i'm never getting Pirellis ever again. Heres a pic of the damage.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

These are my winter Rims: Volvo Factory 16 rims On 215/55/16 winter tires. This is really the only pic i have of my winter tires - i cant remember what their called but they are AWESOME - with AWD and these tires, my car is an absolute beast in the snow.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Lighting

I didn't like the look of the stock volvo headlights i got so i went to the dealer and ordered a set of headlights off the 2004 C70 Volvo. What a difference in looks AND performance.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Old picture of my old HID's - in the process of getting new picstures of new temp HID's.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Heres a picture of the High beam HID's from inside the car. There is a HUGE difference between low and High beam, but you really cant tell because its an open field so theres really nothingfor the light to reflect off. But trust me - BIG difference

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Ok so heres a little comparison of my Old 5400K hids to my New 8500K hid low beam headlights. The 5400K's are on the left, and the 8500K's are on the right. Definily LOVE the 8500's wayyy more!
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
To install my HID foglights i had to do quite a bit of modding to the stock fog light holders and wireing. I had to hollow out the connector so that i could mount the light, and this is what it looked like after i was done with it

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Heres a pic of it connected into the fog light holder - this is an awesome mod, HID foglights are sick!!

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Heres a cool pic of my 8500K low beam, and my 7000k fog lights on at the same time. This was taken before i mounted it just to make sure it works haha

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

As the taillights go their still stock. But i would like to paint them a much darker candy red. That would look awsome.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Performance Mods

NEW!!!
The engine that comes in the car is a turbocharged Inline 5 Cylinder with Stock 190hp and 230ft/lbs torque. The left picture is the stock engine bay, and the right pic is the current status under the hood, as of June 9th
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

I bought a intake from Eurosport tuning. It makes a little difference, and it makes a real cool sound, thats about it, i wanna get something different because i really dont like this setup.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

My HKS BOV to help the turbo release pressure. Sounds AWSOME!!!!!

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

I finally finished polishing the turbo pipe and it looks friggen awsome!! Theres still some minor imperfections, but i'll get those out later.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

This is what it looks like now.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

I Bought a Custom Eurosport tuning dual exhaust and performance downpipe. It took a looonngg time to get it, but in the end i beleive its worth it. Big difference in the top end, plus is sounds sexxxy too.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

I bought a new ECU from eurosport tuning. The EUC remapped the fuel and upped the boost from stock 6psi, to at peak 12Psi. I went to the track before and after and there was a .2 second and 4 MPH difference so i guess it was worth it. This is my boost guage hitting 11psi

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Heres a shot of my yellow Samco Silicone Intercooler hoses. Meant to hold boost pressure alot better then stock ones.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
My stock engine mount was gettin pretty worn out, and seeing as i have a 5 speed standard car, getting the IPD polyurethane engine mount was definitly a smart choice. Once installed i could feel the difference in the car as i shifted. A very cheap and easy mod to do, heres a pic before i installed it.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Exterior Mods:

The car didn't come with a rooftop spoiler, so i went to the dealer and got this one on right away

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
So i debadged the tailgate and it turned out that the previous owner got a paintjob on the trunk of the car, a horrible paint job at that. You could still see the outlines of the badges and there was lots of rust on the trunk too. I finally got it sandblasted and painted and now the trunk looks sexxxy as hell!! Heres a little before and after:
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

When i bought the car it had some wierd ass window tint, it was scratched not very dark and for some reason one of the windows wasent tinted. Well i got some Limo black metallic flake tint put on 32% in front (35% is legal limit in ontario) and 13% in back. Looks GREAT. In these pics you can compare, Left is old, right is new
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

One thing that i always wanted to do was get the Euro-rails taken off my car. I finally got it done and man does the car look even better!!! It looks sleaker and lower than before.
Is that not an awsome picture??
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

I got a new grille from eurosport tuning and it looks awsome!! Its chrome surround and black mesh - definitly a new look!
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Like i said i got a custom Licence plate. Took alot of time to decide on it but i'm really happy with my decision. Its a german / european word for "Super car" or "The best Car", theres lots of different translations.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

This is the carbon fibre cam cover that i installed awhile back, i just forgot to mention it. In case you cant tell it says VOLVO off to the left.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

This is my Carbon Fibre VST Front splitter that the Good guys over at Gemini Composits made for me, at an awesome price! Its 100% real carbon fibre so its strong as hell! Just gotta wait for an R-bumper to put the sucker on!
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Ever since i bought the car i had always wanted to put on the R front bumper. Well i finally got one so here it is! This is a comparison shot to the stock bumper.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Heres my VST front splitter attached to my New R front bumper. It completely changes the look of the front of the car!!

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
For fun heres a few shots of the work in progress to installing the R bumper on the car. I had to take off pretty much the whole front end and after that this is what it looked like

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
It took a little longer than i'd hoped and it turned out i had to drive somewhere with my bumper off. With everything secure i drove around for an hour lookin like this - i bet i got some wierd ass looks haha.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Ever since i got my dual exhaust and uncapped the drives side exhaust outlet, the trim was missing and my rear bumped looked very un-symmetrical. Well i finally got around to buying the other trim piece from the dealer for only 10$ (dont know why i took so long to do it!) Now that its installed it finally completes the look of the trunk! (painted picture coming up)

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Interior Mods:

Finally got my 3 Pod A-pillar sent to me, and i got it installed right away along with the Volt Guage i ordered awhile ago. The boost guage is on the bottom and the volt guage is in the middle. As for the top guage i think i want an oil pressure guage, but that may be too much work, so i'm just leaving it empty for now. The stock pillar is on the left, the pillar now is on the right.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Like i said both my Guages are Ractive 7 colour guages - hes just a few pics to show you the different colour combo's that i can have.
LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70 LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Now that the a-pillar is in, i obviously took out this ghetto fab boost guage holder - but i'll keep this pic up just to give an idea of what it looks like installed.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

This is the 7 colour ractive volt guage that is now installed in the middle hole in the A-pillar

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Suspension Mods:
I bought some IPD lowering springs that took the car down about an inch and a quarter.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Next thing i did was buy a chrome strut bar from Eurosport Tuning. It seemes to really stiffen up the front of the car.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Here are some good before and after shots of the drop, in some picture you may not be able to tell, but theres a big difference

NEW!!!
This is just a funny picture i took recently. Now that my tires are a little bit bigger, i'm rubbing a bit on the inner fender of my drivers side fender well. Its nothing serious, so i'm just gonna let the tire burn away whatever it needs in order to fit.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

In Car Entertainment:

As for in car entertainment, its all 100% stock. I havent had time to get a good sound system put together yet. Heres just pictures of the stock system.

First theres the CD deck

Transmission:
As Volvo's go, getting one thats turbo and 5-speed is a pretty rare thing. I looked long and hard to get this car and i wouldn't have it any other way.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

Racing
Theres a track not too far away from my house that i like to go to on occasion when i've done a few things to my car. I went on June 11 to get some times and the best run i had that day was 15.27 @88MPH. Considering stock best was 16.54 @85MPH i'd say thats a pretty damn good improvement. I'll be going again next week after i get my chip, i'll try to get some good racing pictures, and scan my slip as proof.

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

CAR SHOW AWARDS
Well on July 30th 2004 i went to the All-Volvo car show in Ilderton Ontario and i took home first place in the V/S/C/X/R catigory! I got a plaque, woo!

LownlazyV70's 1998 Volvo V70

NEW!!!
Well i went to another all volvo car show on May 30th 2005 at Appco in Waterdown Ontario. I went there with a bunch of friends from the volvospeed forums and a good time was had by all. This was a peoples choice award only car show and my car came 3rd out of about 70 cars - i got to pick a prize from a table - no plaques this time. Dammit!! Oh well tho it was fun, heres a pic of the Volvospeed Ontario Crew!!

Heres just some other pics from the trip to the show and some pics while at the show. Enjoy!
