Update 1/12/06 - Audio Upgrades!

Finally got around to modding the truck a little more...still in debt (decided to buy server space, a new computer, Christmas presents, and a whole lot more random stuff). I got my TransGo shift kit a few days after my last update...but it's still sitting about 6 ft away from me as I type this, waiting to be installed. Hopefully it'll be done this spring. Still working on the cowl induction hood...I'll be putting it on in the spring as well, finished or not.

As far as the mods I've actually gotten...upgraded the sound system in the truck. I decided to test out the new EU-700's (6 1/2" subs) that Elemental Designs recently released. I bought two of them. I also bought a NINe.2 amp from them. I've got them setup in a sealed box between the seats. They sound pretty damn good for as small as they are...but they definitely can't compete with the larger subs. Fine for me as I only listen to rock and country. My box didn't turn out too horribly for my first ever box... we originally covered it in truck undercoating (got to trip with Jesus while doing that one...) but it was still ugly so I shredded a mattress pad and went to Joanne Fabrics and bought some cool fabric on the discount rack. Unfortunately they only had it in blue...but I may get some dye and dye it black. Or I'll just re-cover it later on. I also bought a chrome fire extinguisher...just in that unlikely even I end up with a nifty electrical fire.

Here's what the EU-700's and the amp look like:

Here's the inside of my truck with the sub box...I may actually relocate the subs to go behind my seats...but for now that's how I got it setup.

I've also done a few other things... removed my off-center OhioDakotas.net decal. It wasn't attracting any new members...and I was tired of it. Also added a few new stickers...lol. I'm thinking about redoing my 3rd brake light cover and my billet gas cover...sanding them down and painting them black to match the rest of the truck. What do you all think?

Here's what my truck looks like as of November 10th, 2005...only change made since then is I got a new battery put in...which is now held down by 1 bolt and a bungee cord (battery acid had eaten my other bolt clear in half).

Hey nice truck! You gave me the idea of putting a 14" air cleaner on my 5.2 and it works great!
