Wrecks
During early 2003, I wrecked the truck for the first time (3 times total). I spun out, didn't realize my foot was still on the gas and knocked a sign across the road while pulling a 180. The cause (besides my shitty driving) was my transmission. It is messed up and has a tendency to shift weird. On that particular day, it wouldn't downshift while I was turning out of the highschool parking lot. I had it nearly floored just to get it to drive normal and suddenly it downshifted...hard...causing me to lose traction and spin out. Then my stupidity of keeping my foot on the gas (panic), kept me spinning out of control. I busted my passenger side taillight and tore the living hell out of my bedside. Total cost to repair - $1500. Unfortunately I lost all my pics from that wreck.
Later on in the spring, I was out driving with a buddy late at night and a deer ran out in front of me. I slammed on the brakes, but my ABS didn't allow me to stop quick enough and I just barely knocked the deer. Let me put it this way... when the deer ran out in front of me and I slammed on the brakes my friend said, "Dude...the stop sign is up there, why you slowing down?" and then saw the deer and went "OH GOD!!!" The deer just got knocked over, got right up, and ran away. That left a small ding, but otherwise all was okay.

The next wreck was not my fault. I always try to park out in the boonies at school because so many wrecks always happen with people driving and being cocky. That day we'd had an ice storm in the morning and the parking lot had been salted, but it refroze and was a complete sheet of ice. I decided to park a little farther away to avoid sliding cars. As I stepped out of my truck, I heard skidding, looked over and this girl in a Ford Ranger 4x4 is sliding right for me with her wheels cranked trying to miss me. Unfortunately...she didn't miss me and she slammed right into my bedside leaving a nice dent. It turns out, she was parking out in the same area because she thought there would be less ice and she was afraid of sliding into someone up closer to the building. Total cost to repair (from her insurance) - $900.

People who leave these are bastards!

Might as well add this one too... was out driving one night with a friend and cut through a road construction area which was normally open for driving even though the road was technically closed. That night the road was tore up and totally blocked...so I (being the genious that I am) decided to just cut across the ditch and turn around in the field and come back up a lil farther down the road rather than back a ways down the road to the nearest driveway to turn around. The ditch was considerably steeper than it looked (read: was a freakin' drop off) and I smacked my rear bumper across it which did quite a number to the truck. It ended up bending my bumper (which I just lowered on one side to compensate and it's really hard to tell) and bent my bedside in. Just standing and looking at it you can't tell unless you really look it over...but yeah, technically that is a "wreck" I guess.
