Hey mate another aussie zedder. Needs to be more of us I say!!! I read someone reconmend the 3.8 V6 commy motor. I say boo and yay. I'm actually putting one in my 260z at the moment. Fits very well indeed. however thats me and not for everyone.
A nice RB25 would be good upgrade if you are going to the hassle of changing engines. Remember there was a factory model Z31 that came equiped with an RB20 so there is a easy way to get a RB in there. hmm 200ZR nice beast they are. I know a chap with one. Anyway good luck with your project.

I voted for C. Sorry to hear about the fire, man. Anyways, I'd recommend finding a low mileage VG30E or ET and putting that in. But if you don't want the stock type engine, you could swap in the VG30DETT, VQ35, or maybe a RB26DETT. If you can find one and can do the conversion, you could swap a RB30 with RB25 or RB26 heads. But that's assuming you wnat to stay Nissan. Any engine will fit into the Z31 engine bay. If you really want to be unique, you could try a 13B. that would be interesting.

Heres a link you may find interesting.

Check out my Z31 if you get a chance. Later

well i like your z its a start, but i have to say the motor in these things are hard to work on so i voted for a new motor, if you would like to see an example check out my z and tell me what you think.
