Barry,This is one of most facinating and well documented projects I have ever found on the web. I have some advice you will find very beneficial.I'm a former National/International rally driver, with thousands of miles towing car trailers around North America, and now a full time RVer with even more miles towing travel trailers. Reading your saga, I had already guessed you would have problems on the first trip with the Porche before I came to your description and pix of the accident.I strongly advise that you should protect your irreplaceable rig and its valuable contents, as well as the people in the tow vehicle, from the possibility of ever having another sway episode. Buy a HENSLEY ARROW HITCH!What you have now only controls(??)sway after it starts. The Hensley prevents sway from ever starting, no matter what.Three years ago, towing a travel trailer with a Hensley, I was run off the pavement on the Trans Canada Highway by a heavy hauler. The right front wheel caught in the soft gravel shoulder and pulled the rig off the road and down into the deep wide ditch. Finding I was headed for a big highway sign without enough distance to stop, I had to turn left sharply and back up onto the highway to miss it and then immediately turn right sharply to not shoot right across the highway and down into the ditch on the other side. I was able then to take a hand off the wheel and pull the trailer brakes on to bring the rig to a stop. Only the Hensley prevented what would have been a sure rollover with any other hitch or sway control. The inside of the travel trailer was a shambles but we survived intact and unharmed. The Hensley is expensive compared to other hitches but they are the best insurance you can buy. They have a great promo video with an endorsement from Andy Thompson, Canada's "Mr Towing". http://www.hensleymfg.comIt's worth a look.
