samuritaco's 1987 Suzuki Samuraisamuritaco's 1987 Suzuki Samurai

this is my 1987, 5 speed stickshift, 4 weel drive, 69 horse power, suzzuki samuri. when I was 10 my dad brought it home from a junk yard with a blown engine. we have done more modifications than i thought possible when my dad first brought it home.

with all of those modifications my dad and i have only spent $2,000 on it. that includes buying it and getting a new working engine.

samuritaco's 1987 Suzuki Samurai

we started about 6 years ago with something that looks like this.we had already made our first modifications: taking off the back and raising the seats.

samuritaco's 1987 Suzuki Samurai

we soon realised that when huntin the doors were really inconvient, so off they went, along with the winsheild and roof. we lifted it 4 inches, got mud tires from a junk yard and put the seats higher on top of tool boxes that a cooler fits perfectly inbetween, and added a gun rack. (this was inbetween a 4 year period. im still looking for pic's to fill that gap)

we then got u bolts and bolted together some pipes and called that our bumper. added off road lights and a pig skull

we saw theses tires and realised the rims would fit on so we added em. but every time we hit a bump they rubbed real bad and it could barly turn so we put the old ones on again, looked good though.

this past summer i really got involved in this project, so we got a lot done. we...

welded together a bumper then mounted a custom brush guard to it

lifted the seats anouther 6inches higher and replaced the plywood floring with

dimond plated aluminum found in the trash. i painted it black with FSU decals

i then painted it camo using 30 homemade stencles, 5 colors, and 10 cans of spraypaint

now we got a sexy, como, unstopable, huntin and muddin machine, of course were never going to be done with modifications.

Modifications:

4 inch lift: ebay $200

new tires and rims: found in a junk yard 15 bucks for tires and rims

cut off doors, roof, and winsheild: winsheild is now a window at our huntin cabbin

lifted the seats over the roll bar using wooden 4x4's and a sheet of wood on top with homemade toolboxes the seats are bolted on to

added home made gun rack

replaced the old broken engine with a new one

off road lights: found in trash

glued on a coot head from an old decoy we accidently shot

welded up a new bumper and brush guard

spray painted the whole thing green

6 years later i goot good at spray painting so i spray painted the whole thing camo and put a lot of FSU stencles in it

tyed a pig skull to the front

jerry rigged together mud guards around the sides

raised the seats 6 inches higher and needed to add handles to help people get up and raise the roll bar for people to hold on to

made the trunk door into a tail gate

aimed the winsheild whipers to hit the passenger

Future modifications:

voltswagen desil rabbit engine(hopefully after, get desil stacks but use one as an intake)

rock croller gears

push out tires

i am still workin on finding pictures of it stock, of working on it, a few pictures of us sinking it and some other muddin pics. i figure it may as well be posted while im lookin for the pic's.
