I have owned this 1981 AMC Concord Sta-Wgn since Feb. 1982. The car had 100 miles on the odomoter when I bought it. The car, originally from Wisconsin was shipped to Michigan in 1982 to a dealership in Birmingham. It had a 151c.i.d. 4-cyl. engine, manual transmission, manual brakes,no air,no radio, but it did have power steering. I bought it anyways. I liked the way it looked.I used it as an everyday vehicle till 1998 when
I decided it was time to buy another car and restore this one.I first had to have a garage built to put it in while I was restoring it and somewhere to put it when I was done. After having the paint completely stripped off and doing some minor body repairs I had it painted with a clear coat (same original color,Copper Brown) pinstripping also.I painted the front grille, headlight doors, side mirrors, and the back tailights (all which use to be chrome in color) satin black,to give the car a better and different look. Had the back and side windows tinted. Put on new woodgrain panels, painted inside the door jams and especially took care in painting and detailing the engine compartment.Cragar mags and B.F Goodrich tires to complete the outside look.
