Here is my 1987 Ford Ranger. Let me first off congratulate Ford on making the most dependable line of trucks out on the market, and the superb design of the great Ford Ranger. My Ranger, as many other cars of this age has a story. It was bought brand new by a farmer, then sold to a friend of a friend of mine, who sold it to me. The truck has about 140k on it, which isn't terrible considering how old it is. I don't know where to begin because I have been working on it for such a long time now. The truck didn't come with power steering, power brakes, or any electric windows, door locks or anything else, not even a tach. No radio, no carpeting, no nothing. The guy who had it before me put some later model ranger seats in it, which are pretty cool. In the last year or two, me and my dad have kind of adopted this as our father-son project. We painted it, the color it came stock, sorry I don't have any pics of when I first got it, but we did the wheels and tires around it, installed front and rear sway bars, did the brakes all around, and basically just cleaned it up. Although this truck may look somewhat fast, it is far from it. This truck is outfitted with a 2.0l motor, bored .060 over, and has the crappiest transmission you could get with it. Currently I am building with my dad a 2.8l v6 for it, and we are going to swap out the transmission for the next step up. My dad keeps hassling me about this 2.8 because of Gas, but once I get out of college, I foresee a roots supercharged 347 with a t-5 tranny feeding into a 9 inch rear with a gear ratio of somewhere between 3.73 and 4.11 :). Oh Fun Fact: I recently put a new clutch in it, and we realized that the old one was the clutch that came on the truck from the factory! How's that!
