How it was:
I sold this car when I bought the Daewoo Espero and I won't lie... It was heartbreaking to let it go...I got it from my father like 12 or 14 years ago when I was a -childlike wildlike- teenager, so I made a lot of mods to the car including chasis, engine, gearbox, brakes, wheels, audio system, etc...
This is how it looked back then:
(Tinted windows, Fiat uno Suite alloy wheels (Brasil / Argentina), clear turnlights, Fiat Uno Turbo foglights, RamAir on the hood, etc.)
Engine and Chasis:
The engine was bored & stroked to raise from the original 1372cc to a little bit more than 1.500cc, replacing pistons with forged ones. The Engine flywheel was lightened and the engine cooling system got improoved with better parts and bigger radiator.
The cilinder head got ported on both intake and exhaust ducts, the compression raised from 8,5 to 10,5:1 , a new 4 to 1 long header and a straight 2" high flow exhaust got placed. The original single barrel carb got replaced by a Fiat Uno's weber 32/34 dual barrel carb that got ported and reworked to increase its flows and efficiency. Also it received a Fiat Uno's electronic ignition system and a High Voltage race coil.
Gearbox works included an autolockable differential (gearbox/diff are a single block), a sportier clutch and closer ratios from 2nd to 5th.
In oder to stop the car it received Fiat Uno's brakes, front ones got cross-drilled and the servo got replaced with a bigger one.
On the inside, nothing to say WOW, a generic brand tach, kenwood head unit, eclipse speakers on the doors and decklid, and a custom made enclosure with a pioneer 10" subwoofer.
I had temperature, fuel presure, oil presure and voltimeter on the pilar but they where blocking my view to that side so I removed them.
Then I got this crazy idea of restoring it to it's original condition, to make it be like when it first came out of the car dealer back on the 90's and how my Dad saw it the first time... Who of course helped me all the way through this project and gave a lot of knowledge and help
Now having finished the project that you will see next, I can say that there is nothing greater than sharing a project and a Hobby so good as this with my own father!
