I brought a mk4 Austin Mini 1000 earlier on in the year to be a daily driver.

but now due to my MG Mini Metro crashing i am have started swapping all the good parts over to make this into a event/track day car.

the Austin came with widened rims, an australian built 1098cc engine with some mods done to it - cam, twin carbs, extractors, hardened valve seats. also had a kenwood headunit, fusion 6.5" speakers, 2" fusion tweeters and reactor 6x9s.and a mk1 style wavy grille with mk3 backing plate

the bonnet is held on with bonnet pins and front straps.

since i have got it i have put on 13x5.5" minilites with yokohoma tyres which came off my crashed metro and put on a set of black fibreglass flares

have also added my sony CD headunit from the metro and got the 6x9s working as they wern't previously.

mk1 style wavy grille is gone and have a mk3 on temporarily while waiting for new grille from U.K

at the moment i have started to redo the interior a little bit, mostly just tidying it up to make it look better, have purchased some Boschmann 6x9s and a Boschmann amp to run them, having a parcel tray built up to mount these so that the sound quality is increased and so 1 of the speakers doesn't hit the fuel tank. replacing the front fusions with some JVC 6.5" component with inline crossover. also going to put some JVC 6.5" coaxals nder rear seat in a speaker board.

will also be adding alloy handle set, handbrake grip, foot pedals, centre console and possibly a dashboard.will just do as money permits it to be done but want interior sorted first.

body needs a little bit of attention due to rust coming through in a couple of spots or where some paiint has come off.but is in good condition for a mini.

my metro had a fully modified 1330cc which put out roughly 90-100hp, this engine is at the mechanics going to be rebuilt and given more power and a lower diff ratio (currently 3.76:1), but engine will be the last thing done to the car.

will keep updating as more is done and posting more pictures.
