Hello to all. This is my pride and joy, a 1975 C10 with the pro street treatment. The color is a 1955 GM Gypsy Red code 596. The front has been lowered from the stock height of 32" down to 24 1/2" with drop spindles and coils. The rear is dropped from 34" to 27". The bed has aluminum tubs and the battery is mounted in front of the drivers side tub under the bed since the fuel tank is on the right side. She is driven daily mainly in town, with limited highway use, the farthest was 150 miles round trip @ 10 mpg.

I acquired her on 9/11/01. The had a 377 with a 100 shot plate system and it stayed that way until 1/07. Seemed to be a very stout setup and like everyone does, estimated the ponies were really up there, so decided to put her on a chassis dyno. I wasn't ready for the reality check I guess and very disappointed. After he played with the timing for awhile and some re-jetting of the carb, all that she would produce at the wheels was 328 hp and 358 tq without the nitrous. Not to bad I guess, but not in a heavy truck. This is what brought on the current setup.

For over 30 years I have been craving something that I never could afford so now was the time to start. I found a 4 bolt block that was already decked, aligned bored, cylinders punched, and studded at a machine shop. Ordered an Eagle forged crank, Crower Sportsman Stroker rods, and Arias 8:1 pistons and had everything balanced and the pistons fitted to each bore. Brought everything home and started on the short block. Stuck in a mild Isky hyd. cam since it is mainly for street pounding. Put the World Sportsman heads back on and now it was time for the eye candy, a 671 Weiand supercharger.

Since there are two blower cars in town already, I wanted to be a little different, so after ALOT of pleading with the wife, and recovering from the sticker shock, this is what I ended up with. Now I can say I have a blown and injected 383. The top hat is an electronic 8 injector Enderle bug catcher by BDS. A FAST ecu controls the fuel and timing needs. To maintain the 60 psi flow needed, it is fed with an Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and boost referenced regulator. The spark is fired by a MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD Blaster coil, MSD 6AL, Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm wires, and NGK UR6 plugs. The high electrical needs of the ecu and ignition system are handled with a Powermaster 140 amp alternator. The engine is spun over with a 1.9 hp Hitachi starter. Runs on 92 octane with 10 lbs. of boost. Don't have any dyno runs or track times, but for now, it really doesn't matter much to me. If and when I tire of cruising her around, then it will be time to start going to the track.

The frame has been c-notched and the truck 12 bolt has been narrowed to 44" flange to flange. Moser axles, c-clip eliminators, 4.56 gears, and a spool fill the housing. The drums were updated to Wilwood brakes for better stopping. Also has a 4 link with coil overs as well. The tranny is a TH 400 with a manual/reverse value body, trans brake, and a 3500 stall.

The wheels are Centerline Convo Pros, with 15 x 8 up front and 15 x 14 at the rear. Front tires are P255/6OR15 Seiberling Falcon SR and 31 x 18.50R15LT Hoosier Pro-Street Radials in the rear. For fun times, 32.0 x 14.0-15 Hoosier Drag Slicks stay mounted on a pair of 15 x 14 Cragar Soft 8 Wheels.

Nothing special with interior. Replaced stock gauges with Autometers. The buttons control the fuel shutoff, linelock, and trans brake. Still has the bench seat and column shifter. The stereo system is pretty nice but again nothing special, Kenwood unit with 2 Orion amps under the seat, but is rarely used. The whine coming from the front is all that is needed.

To anyone who happens upon this, I hope you enjoy viewing her as much as I do, and if you think she is worthy, take the time to rate her and maybe send a little comment.
