This is the most beautiful one owner 450 SL Mercedes you have ever even heard of!!! My grandfather used to import and sell quite a bit of cars from Mercedes in the 60's and 70's, so he ordered this as his personal car directly from the factory...funky orange and all (after all, we are from Texas!!! Hook em). This is a stock color. He hid this car through 2 bankrupcies. It was his pride and joy. He passed away in 1996 and the car sat at one of his car dealerships neglected for about 10 years (I am a 3rd generation car dealer). My grandmother gave it to my dad and he restored it beyond where anyone in their right mind would restore a car. He replace every single rubber grommet and hose, interior piece (including the Mercedes gold medallion on the shifter, carpet and insulation, paint, wire wheels, tires, lights and covers...etc. (you get the picture).
My dad needed to raise some money when things got tight about 5 years ago, but didnt want to lose this car forever, so he sold it to his brother to keep it in the family. That brother needed to raise some cash in a crunch and sold it to another brother (family of nine children). That brother passed away, so I surprised my dad and fulfilled a dream of mine to surprise my dad with the car that he loved so much and had so much sweat and blood (and cash) invested into. The car has 89K original miles on it and drives perfect. You would really be impressed, because the pictures dont do the car justice. It has the hard top and soft top (all brand new and not a single aftermarket part). Many of the parts are stamped in German writing. This car has not been touched by rain since the resto about 6-7 years ago.
I feel like a king driving around my grandfathers pride and joy. I hope you love her just half as much as my dad does. Thanks for viewing my post...let me know what you think...
