Ga_Rebel’s Jeep Comanche Regular Cab
“The GOAT”

    • Currently 3.2/5 Stars.

I will be using this page to chronicle the build up of my 1987 Jeep Comanche - The GOAT.

I received this truck from my dad when the transmission started failing in my truck.

First, I will post some pics of how she looks now.

As you can see, the truck really isn't in that bad of shape. A few surface rust spots and a few dents, but that is nothing that a dent puller, some sand paper and a little bit of primer can't fix. I will eventually repaint the truck, but for now, I am just going to see if I can buff out the shine.

Here is a shot at the rear end under the vehicle. I am not very educated about these, but from what I have read and seen, it is a Dana 44.

There is one slight mechanical problem with the Jeep right now. There seems to be a bad ring in the number 2 piston location. I get a lot of build up around the spark plug and have to clean it off every 150 miles or so. I also have a slight oil leak somewhere as you can see by the picture of the front pumpkin below:

Here is a shot at the hood. I washed the truck with a degreaser so that I could remove all the tree drippings. I don't think the truck has been waxed in at least 10 years. That will change soon as I plan to wet sand and buff out the truck for the time being.

Well - that is all I have for now. I will add pictures and updates as funds allow. Sit back and relax, this will be a long one.....

Thanks for the comments y'all. I do have plans for the truck, I just don't have the funds right now, but hopefully that will change very soon. Right now, I am also working on my other truck - which is an 01 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. It has bad paint and I am in the process of wet sanding, priming and painting it. I am using rustoleum's gloss black paint - yes it is spray paint, but you will not be able to tell it from any other paint job when I am complete. I already have the fenders done and I am currently working on the hood - then I will move on to the cab of the truck. In the mean time, I will also be designing a custom 4-link rear suspension along with new front suspension for the Jeep. My goal is to get about 6" of lift so that I can run and wheel on 33s without cutting the fenders for clearance - I also want a lot of articulation as well.
