1981 VW Scirocco
In 2003 I bought this '81 Scirocco for $100 off a friend's dad who just wanted it out of his driveway.
$25 Bucks for a new battery and putting some air in the front passenger tire had me driving this thing home.
I lived on 40 acres and parents would never buy me a 4wheeler, so this was my cheaper solution. A friend of mine also found a 1985 Honda Accord just sitting in someone's driveway which he paid $75 bucks for and had to do a little bit more work to get it running, but eventually we each had some fun Field Cars to play around with.
This is what happened:

Polka Dot Paint scheme FTW! haha. This was just chalked on as a mock up before we bought some spray paint.

This is what happened to my rear suspension after a few months of driving around in the fields. We managed to U-Bolt the suspension back to the chasis, but it wasn't much of a fix and was only good for a couple more months.

This is how it sat in my driveway while we were trying to fix the rear suspension. After it finally went caput we trailered it to a scrap metal yard and I got $50 bucks for it.

My friend's paint job was much better than mine and I was usually the one that was taking pictures so all the action shots were of his car. Here is his 1985 Hondaman Accord. His also overheated and smoked quite a bit. Towards the end of our fun his engine was only running on 3 cyclinders.
