"ADVENTURE" My Mitsubishi Adventure 1998 Sport (2.5 Diesel)

I got my Mitsubishi adveture as a hand me down from my 3 older siblings. This car was a sort of training vehicle for all my 3 sisters who learn thier driving skills with this work horse. "Adventure" was first bought as a personal service for my mother who needed a car to take her to meetings, work and wherever she needed to be, but due to the rough ride of the adventure it was later designated as a company service. It Picked up small cargos from the airport, delivered stocks to our stores and fetched students (us siblings) from our designated schools.
In 2002 it was finaly designated to be my personal service to and from the university and at my 21st birthday my dad allowed me to learn to drive and since then it has been racking up kilometers with me. It first started its life as a two tone green and silver AUV. Which to be honest, not the best color i had in mind. Green didnt exude masculinity and it certainly didnt turn the heads of college ladies.
The very first upgrade i did because of this was have a magic tint (dark) installed in all the window panes. Back then I felt insecure to be driving a "delivery" van to school.
The second modification i did was i installed a second hand 8 inch sub woofer in the cargo area. Not long after i got hooked to good sound set up. Being a college student and single i took to my self that if i cant have a good looking car that at least i should create the best sounding "shag van". It took me a couple of years to attain my current sound set up due to the limitation of my allowance.

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SECTION
Last 2005 after i graduated the family went through finacial dificulties and i convinced my dad to just have the Adventure repainted and reapholstered rather than giving me a new car. After considering my lifestlye of chasing "kolehiyalas" and yuppy ladeies I opted for a discrete Merccedes Charcoal Grey as my change of color. My choice of color was greatly inflluenced by "discretion". I chose charcoal grey because 1 it was a novel color to adventure owners back then (Casa didnt offere this from 2005 to 2008. this color was exclusive to me, but nowadays they do offer metalic grey so my color is a dime a dozen already), 2 because i didnt want my car to stand out that much due to my live fast die young lifestyle and 3 it was a masculine color that also by chance fit the color of my interior.
I also had the wood grain interior garnishings painted to match my cars color. This would prove to be a good decision so as to give the interior of the car a fresh young look. I found that the wood grain finish of the stock garnishing as a big design flaw to mitsubishi. They certainly look like plastic with wood grain patterns and they certainly feel like plastic with wood grain patterns. Mitsubishi designers were trying too hard to make it feel luxurious when i really is not (immitation wood grain that is).
The door pannels i had reapholstered because age caught up to them and they started to peel. i tried super gluing them back but they just hardened like plastic and they still kept falling. It was a good that that the seat maker showed me these carbon fiber like fabric which gave the interior a racey feel. Plus it also matched the seatcover, interior pannels and the currect audio setup.
As for the upholstry, i still have my old seat upholstry but i had a 2 tone leatheret seal cover made specialy for my car. The only thing that gives it away that its a seat cover is the ill fitting driver seat cover which i cannot figure out how to secure firmly and the straps to hold the cover for the rear benches which is a clear give away when the benches are stowed.
Future interior mods
1. Reclining middle seats
2. Reupholstry of all the seats
3. 3 point self stowing seat belt for the middle seats.
4. New floor 3m Nomad matting, cut to fit OEM floor mats.
5. Grey ashtrey for middle door pannel. missing 1 pc.
6. Net divider for cabin and trunk.
7. Self stowing trunk cover to lessen cabin area and to hide belongings from plain view.
8. Have the headliner cleaned.

From 2008 to early 2009 i had my magic tint removed. The clean untinted window gave the car a new tidy look. As summer came and traffic grew worse in the metro i started to feel the burn of the sun on my skin while operating my car and this lessen the pleasure of driving. So i said to myself ill have my car Vkool-ed. So i went to the local Vkool installers and suppliers and found out that to have the entire car tinted with clear Vkool it would cost around 20k and the worse part was the local distributor didnt honor the LIFETIME INTERNATIONAL warranty suppose to have. They only offer 5 years warranty. If i was paying 20k for a clear tint i would like to also have the lifetime warranty to back up the item.

So i opted to go for the amercan look of no tints in front. In order to cut cost I chose 3M light black for the entire back and had the front windows and windshield Vkool-ed. From my experience the 3M tints and clear VKool tints perform the same its just that VKool is clear. Good thing i didnt have the entire car Vkool-ed because the heat rejection of Vkool was far from the carshow demos (i think the demo intallations in car shows are double tinted, both sides of the glass are tinted). it did reject much heat but I still felt the burn of the sun, it just took a couple of minutes to still feel uncomfortable. (My two cents worth, go for 3M value for money)
PERFOERMANCE SECTION
I recetly had my car detailed together with the headlamps and im cosidering of upgrading my headlamps to a clear housing and have it smoked plus install a projector HID kit inside with 4300k 50w HID. to have that CRV HID light scatter. but this will set me off at around 25k for this PROPER HID upgrade so im still contemplating of I should do this because there are so many unknowns. like will the stock wiring take the HID upgrade? will the clear housing take the heat of the upgrade and will the 4300k HID be dependable in ill weather?
Current healight upgrade
Bulb: Osram all weather bulb 45w
Wring: upgraded wiring harness w/ bosch relays.
Future Upgrades
1. if i dont go for HID's ill upgrade to 50w OSRAM all weather bulbs
2. Bosch ceramic connectors
all in all cheaper to maintain and less hassle.
or if i go for the HID upgrade
3. clear headlight housing pair and have the bezzel painted body color or flat black
4. Projector HID kit
5. 4300k HID (OEM ultrawhite color temp) bulb with 50watt digital ballast to lessen the Amp spike at start up hence lessen the likelihood of starting a fire to the wiring.
