So this is the truck, a 1955 Ford F-100. Thats me Josh the readhead and my buddy Donny the master mechnic. The truck was givin to me by my dad back in 1999, at that time the truck had been sitting since 1996 because the wiring had caught fire leaving the truck undrivable. Previously the truck had been in a semi original condition due to the hard work of my dad and grandpa. The truck has a 292 that my dad had rebuilt and had about 3k miles on it when it was parked, it also has a three speed transmission. i have big plans for this truck and am excited to finally start the build up. But first things first....The tear down

Ok so this is the 292 Y-block, by checking the part numbers I have determined that the block is a replacement block, and the heads are from a 60's f100. The heads have the smaller intake ports of 1.63" so I will be looking at changing those to a 57-59 model year set of 312 heads which have the 1.925" intake ports. I have a cam that i am changing out as well as a 6 pack intake manifold fitted with 3 holley 94's 2110 model carbs. All the engine internals are brand new and are in great shape so they will be reused, the engine was running strong before it was parked in 96 and we started up the engine with no problems prior to starting the tear down.
