Well,
We traded the 2007 Altima for something a bit more Economical. Ends up that even with less HP (155hp less), the fit is a more fun car to drive. The SE had Plenty of power but was a heavy car and really wasn't that tossable in the corners. The Fit can be thrown from side to side and responds quite nicely. The economy and $100+ less per month that we are paying is a big bonus too.
More later but here are some photos.
8/18/09 update:
Just took My son today to Six Flags Great Escape in upstate NY and the Trip computer says an AVG of 40mpg with the AC on. This is after some city driving this past weekend. We'll see how far up the MPG meter goes with my commute to/from work. Last tank was Calculated at 41.89mpg and the computer said 47.1mpg. That's a bit off in my opinion but I won't complain too much. 42mpg ain't bad...
To answer some of the Q's that have come up. The only mods I currently have are my Valentine1 Radar detector which I will hardwire as soon as the mosquitos DIE... DIE... but I digress. I also have my son's Graco Nautulus "High performance?" car seat. Some of the basic plans are to add one or two of the the Free-air subs from my integra and a Kenwood amp that I have lying around. I'll probably Fab out a rear deck cover for behind the back seats out of MDF like I did on my Integra (except it was a raised trunk floor... not going that far again). I've got everything except for the wiring needed: Kenwood 4 channel amp, .5 Farad Lightning cap, (2) 10" Infinity Kappa free air Subs.
Here's a photo from this past weekend in front of our Town Library.
10/2009 Update:
My brother came to visit towards the end of September so I had to take a photo of the two.
