1999 SENTRA SE-L
Purchased in February of 2003, I was looking for some sr20 powered car. At the time I was searching all sorts of G20s and Sentras. The G20 is a beautiful looking car, but I just could not afford a P11. They were the only style G20 I liked. The b13 Sentras were not bold enough for my taste of car. I like the boxy look, just not as much as I liked the b14 style Sentras. I wanted a Spec V, but could not afford the payments for one with my driving record for insurance. I decided the b14 SE-L was what I wanted. I knew they were safe cars after I flipped the GXE on Rt. 8 in Cuyahoga Falls. I searched all over Ohio for the Sentra SE or SE-L that I wanted. The only ones available in my area were in auto form. I then found something on accident in PA. The Sentra was going for $8,000 on the web site. I called them asked about milege, they told me 110k. I laughed when they told me the price. After a few days of talking to the dealer, he eventually worked it out to $4,000. (Dont ever feel like you cant get what you want in a car for the right price)I then rented a car from Enterprise(R) and my friend and my wife and I drove across to PA to check out this Sentra. This was also the night of a very VERY bad blizzard. I drove there, arriving finally at around 9:00, and they were getting ready to close. I went in, took one look at the car, started it up... and just like in the commercial, said "Ok ill buy it" I didnt even take her for a test drive. LOL! I then drove it out of the parking lot and wrecked it.........no not really. We drove back to Ohio and arrived home around 11:30 at night because of the really bad blizzard. (Not to mention I JUST bought the car and I didnt want to wreck it.)
I picked the car up with Altezza's allready in there. Eventually I bought SE-Ls off a buddy and the back end of the car is back to its good ol' self again. DO NOT BUY aftermarket tail lamps for the b14 Sentras. Every single pair that I have owned ( which its number is up to 5 pairs now.) There is a part in the Altezza style tail lamp that no matter how well you silicone your lights, the moisture and water gets into this area and drips down from the red to the chrome paint of the tail lamp.
(PICS TO ARRIVE SOON)
I eventually had picked up a set of Mossy corners used off another Sentra SE-L owner. Those eventually fogged so bad that it ate away at the chrome paint in them. I had to paint those and sell them off as "Stealth" corners. I actually traded the stealths for a pair of clear reflective corners.
I have also hacksawed the shifter down about 3-4 inches.
I have also installed a simple 12" sub and amp to get a better punch out of the sound of the music from my car.
