JOSH'S 1994 FORD RANGER SUPERCAB

"D-Ranged"
from this to this
Here is my 94 Ranger 4x4. I am the second owner of this truck and everything that is done to it was performed by me. The truck is fully loaded with power everything, 4.0, 5 speed manual, and bucket seats. The truck was ordered directly from Ford by the original owner. "D" just got his named changed from Dee Arr. That name came from the abreviation of Danger Ranger. D and R. Now as for his new name, D-Ranged actually applies to his owner, me. Everyone tells me how crazy and deranged i am for building a full on rock crawler out of a Ford Ranger pickup. There are still MANY plans for D, just as money comes in, D gets more and more.
As you can see, there is very little (suspension wise) that is stock on this thing. The Front axle is a Dana 44 TTB out of a 93 Bronco and the rear is a 9" out of a 79 F100 truck. The 9" has 30 spline axles and a 4.56 gear with a limited slip differential.
I've actually decided to do a Solid Axle Swap on old "D" and raise it up a little more. The axle that is going under it is a 79 Bronco High Pinion Dana 44. I am using the knucles out from the TTB setup to get the better brakes and better lockout hubs.
The new front suspension that is being built is a custom 3-link setup that Loftis Motorsports in El Cajon, CA is building me. Everything will be DOM material and the custom radius arms will be heimed and plated with 3/8" plate. The front coils will be scrapped and a set of King 2.5 14" coilovers are going in. I will be using Ballistic Fabrication's steering kit that comes with the Chevy 1-ton tirod ends. I also picked up some new shoes for D, he got a set of 365/65/18's. What does that equal out to in normal size? 38x14.5x18. They are Mickey Thompson Baja Claws and Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. Will be posting up some new pictures this weekend (hopefully) of all the progress.
The inspiration to my madness came from Eric's 93 ranger. I have included a couple pics of his truck and a link to his cardomain so you guys and girls can actually see all the work that he has done to this thing.
