Hey everyone, you are looking at a 1999 chevrolet silverado 1500 obviously, that's probably cause you searched for it. My Dad bought it in November of 1998 brand new, I was about five years old then and I pretty well grew up with this truck. despite all it's flaws it means everything to me. I'd hate to see it go and I hate to find damage and rust on it. My Dad told me if I fixed her up a little he would sell it to me when I get my license in February when I can get my license. So here is how bad it got, and how I'm going to fix it. The throttle body got clogged with carbon build up and the pedal was sticky, we cleaned that, changed the oil and spark plugs and swapped the fuel filter. She used to be sluggish accelerating and lurched and hesitated starting off, now it's running almost as good as new. Kinda amazing how much improvement smaller parts gave it. In the process of changing the oil me and my Dad noticed the sway bar end link on the passenger side had just fallen off so we replaced that too, and the wipers were bad so I bought some new ones today and changed them aswell. But there are plenty more things to do. The pickup still needs a paint job, undercoat and bodywork (stupid me drove over the ramps the day of the oil change and damaged the rocker panels) and I also want a new exhaust system and air intake and sound system (and plenty more after that).
