My new aquired 1968 AMX. July 10, 2009. I purchased her showing 65900 on the odometer. It is a very nice stock looking 68 with the Magnum 500 wheels, and Coker red-line tires. The engine is anything but stock. Crowler cam. Headmen headers, Edlbrock Air-gap manifold & performer carb. MSD ignition puts the fire to her. Heads are ported and pollished, over-sized stainless valves, and roller rockers, and hardened guides round out the headwork. 3:54 rear end gears seem fine, but 3:94 or 4:10 may be in the future.

Other future projects. Finding a stock Hurst shifter from a 69 or 70 to replace the original AMC shifter. They are pretty sloppy. Another thought is to replace the transmission with a T-5 5 speed from a Mustang. Pretty much a bolt in project. New 2 1/4 front to back exhaust is ordered from Waldon's Antique exhaust along with Stainless 2 1/2 rear tips. With the right mufflers, it should give it a nice deep tone.
