Update: Made 338WHP and 346WTQ with tuning on water/meth by Bald Turbo Freak. Going to go back to Synapse Turbo so I can get before and after numbers as my first dyno sheet was from Synapse. Throughout tuning numbers got as high as 360WHP and 382WTQ but compressor surge and crappy boost control dropped numbers to be more reliable.

Before and after dyno graph (10/21/09):

Before: 306WHP and 335WTQ

After: 322WHP and 360WTQ

Going for Show-off of the Week. Asking for honest votes!

Hey everyone, here's my bolt-on 2008 turbo cobalt. Bought it brand new in July 2008. Kept it stock for the first few months until Synapse Turbo out of Scotia, NY came out with some of the first bolt-ons for the new SS/TC. Over the next few months I purchased all their bolt-ons (except turbo kit).

I then upgraded my subwoofer. I had custom fiberglass boxes molded in the trunk by ewcaraudio.com. Matched it with Pioneer subs and amp.

At this point I had some good audio, and decent performance. I fell in love with TWM's shifters, nothing but great reviews. I ended up getting their short throw shifter with the aluminum bushings and the satin black stainless steel weighted ball. I couldn't have been happier with that purchase, no complaints 'til this day.

Windows needed tint next. I went one shade darker than legal for N.Y. state. I ended up with 55% on the fronts, 35% on the back, and a 20% limo (windshield) strip.

Doing extensive research on cobaltss.net I went all in on a turbo upgrade. Not like what most people think of as a turbo upgrade, but a company, Bald Turbo Freak, out of Rochester, NY takes the stock turbo and removes the compressor wheel and replaces it with a slightly modified billet aluminum wheel. The new wheel is supposed to flow ~25% more air. The Owner, Rick, is also an avid tuner of the LNF engine. With his help over the internet via HP Tuners and the addition of my 3" stainless steel muffler-delete exhaust and Dejon intake, I made 306WHP and 335WTQ.

I was content for a while, but my buddy with an '06 V6 Mustang (x-charged and water/meth injected) finally persuaded me into water/meth. An awesome group-buy later on cobaltss.net I have Devil's Own's newest progressive water/meth kit. Controller mounted real nicely. Pump was a perfect fit also, under the headlight housing just behind the foglight.

I polished my intercooler using Britemax and a buffer. Turned out amazing. Near mirror finish, not going to lie, some blemishes on aluminum surface. Anyways here are two pics of the afterwork:

I've been getting a lot of comments and such about my headlights. They are the stock headlights painted black. Here is a link to the how-to: http://cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16874. Note: I used my oven instead of blow dryer. Use a low temperature setting on oven.

well, fag. the pinstripes are more commonly referred to as welts, and are the material used in upholstery(on the edges of seats and such. They get super glued into the creases of things.
